Happy belated birthday, [livejournal.com profile] kennedy and [livejournal.com profile] dryope! I hope you both had most fantastic days. *hugs you both tight then twirls you around*

Corey went back to school yesterday. It was all going well until he went to put on his new school trousers and found they didn't fit, as it seems he's grown, a lot, in the few weeks since we bought them. He has to go to school in normal trousers and James exchanged the school ones on the way to work. Except when Corey tried them they didn't fit either so we ended up shopping last night where we finally found one pair, as of course most of the stock had been bought already. Looks like we'll be shopping this weekend too. But other than that his first day back went fine which is all that's important really.

It's always surprising how easy it is to slip back into term time routine. The same walk to meet him after school, waiting in the church yard, walking home talking and trying to prise information out of him about what he's actually done, as somehow he can never remember. They were putting up the lights for Houghton Feast when I was down yesterday, and to me that always means autumn is coming, cooler days and nights, leaves falling from the trees, that special feel in the air as summer departs and the cool fingers of winter brush against your skin. I love this time of year so much, in fact it's my favourite season.

I watched Grey's Anatomy on Monday and really enjoyed it. Living showed the first two episodes and it looks like it's going to be a good show we'll keep watching. Which reminds me, you all know we watch Dog the Bounty Hunter right? Well I just need to protest the fact that when I have a wonderful vivid dream it's about that show. Specifically a h/c kind of dream involving hospitals, Justin and Leyland. Why thoughts like that are in my head I have no idea, because it's just wrong! Oh, but in Dog the other night Justin was taking care of Dog's little blond toddlers then grappling on the floor with Leyland and... and...and I'll shut up now.

Except I have to say thank you to [livejournal.com profile] clumsygrl for the postcard. It came earlier but I can't remember if I thanked you or not. So thank you!

Glad his first day went well. Amazing how kids have those growth spurts at the most inconvenient times, eh? Hope you're able to find more trousers shortly.

I absolutely adore autumn, as well. I love when you walk outside in the morning and breathe in cool, crisp air. I can't put it into words quite like you have (beautifully said, by the way), but yeah... love it!

I'm glad everything went (pretty) smoothly for the first day of school!

The same thing happened with my Alex! His pants were like an inch too small. Damn those growing kids! *hugs*

I love autumn too. It's such a rich season with everything coming into fruit the wonderful colours of the trees, and the air being crips and clear. It's my favourite season and has been so for as long as I can remember. I even like November and December, all rains and bare branches. I don't mind the darkness because I know Christmas is coming to light everything up. No, it's late Janurary, February, and March that get's on my nerves. They're cold and dark and most of the time there's no snow making things seem even darker, and it feels like ages until late April and May when everyting becomes green and starts to flower.
