turpsI've just been reading that Lauren Lee Smith who plays Emma in Mutant X has left the show. Now I have to admit that she's my least favourite character, but damn, she's part of Mutant X, they can't just go and get someone else!
Well, I know they can, but still...
I'm scared about what they're going to do about my show. I know most people don't understand why I love it so, but I do. What scares me is in the announcement Lauren hints that lots of things are going to change.
Season 1 MX was awesome. I adored Brennan in it. He looked great, was bolshy but had a sensitive side. My all time favourite scene is in Lit Fuse when he's walking through Sanctuary reading Walt Whitman poems, Then in the break it was announced that season2 was going to be darker. They changed how Sanctuary looked, and the characters. Brennan cut his hair!!! They basicly dumbed him down and changed his character. At times I wanted to slap him as he came out with more and more chauvinistic stuff. He was made into the stereotypical alpha male. I still loved him, but more because of what he used to be. Same with all the others, they all were more bitter and looked scruffy. But maybe the worst thing, they kept pushing that Shalimar and Brennan were attracted to one another. Can't they see that Bren's Jesse's?
Now I'm so afraid what they're going to do. I'm thinking there'll be a new female mutant and she's bound to be a love interest.
I just want filming to start so I know what the hell they're going to do with my show.

I'm curious, though - will they continue to push Brennan/Shal, and go for Jesse/Lexa or Adam/Lexa, or will they push Brennan/Lexa? Or will we get Lexa/Shal subtext? (Please, yes - Vicki Pratt and Karen Cliche = yummy... *grin*)

And I was starting to like how she was developing, her powers getting darker. But what I'm afraid of is what Lauren hinted at. I hope they don't change the show too much again.

I've never seen that show. I'll have to go look at what she's like. But Lexa, Smallville rip off or what?

Well I wish that they'd push Brennan/Jesse, but then I wake up *g* No, I actually think Brennan and Shalimar could be a pretty good match. If they could overcome the whole alpha male/female thing. But I suspect if they follow season 2 formula they'll have Lexa and Shal fighting over Bren and Jesse left in the cold again.
I've just got a bad feeling about this whole thing. Especially as there's still been no announcement by Tribune.
