Aug. 3rd, 2006 05:50 pmSilver is home, bless his little silvery self. Diagnosis was, nothing wrong with him at all. So the shop didn't make us pay. Got him home, hooked him up again and the monitor was still flashing. After poking at the wires, I found an old monitor and connected that, and it works fine. Which means another trip to the computer shop to see what's up with the monitor. The sooner the better too. My monitor is a sleek flat screen number, the one I'm using now is boxy and has about five foot of plastic behind the actual screen, and man, it makes my eyes hurt. It's too close and slightly fuzzy and has terrible colour, but still. I have net access so I won't complain too much. Maybe just a little, when I'm all squinty and headachy.
Last night I had a really vivid dream about going to a LJ meetup. Many people were there that I've met before, but man, the girl with the username baalamb was cracked in the head. Thank goodness she isn't real. I really hope she's not...eep.
James' sponsored walk is gaining momentum like crazy. Next week his work is holding a dress down day where the whole building pays £1 to go to work in casual clothes. He's got enough stuff for many raffles. Today he went to our local radio station asking them to plug his walk, and they took him into the studio to interview him. Plus while he was at work the local TV studio phoned wanting to talk. He's in the paper tomorrow, and it seems a lot of people are turning up in support on Sat. The plan was always that Corey and I walk with him, but I'm having second thoughts. I mean, he needs someone to carry the buckets but being featured on the news. My wallflower like self is quaking just thinking about it.
I watched A Town Called Eureka last night, I think I'm going to like that show. I'm also watching Party of Five right now. It's on every morning and I'm remembering how much I love the show. Bailey and Claudia. Julia and Charlie, I'm so enjoying seeing it again.
I was beginning to suspect I'd become a LJ outcast and no one seemed to be replying to my comments ....sniff. Though considering the amount I have to reply to myself right now. I'd understand if that had happened. But it seems BT decided that LJ notifications belong in the spam folder. Thanks, BT.
To end This is a twist on the Letter Meme. Instead of coming up with ten items for a certain letter, you come up with five song titles for a certain letter and explain why you picked them. If interested then leave a comment. I'll give you a letter. You post this blurb in your journal along with your list. All YSI links.
Feeder -- Come Back Around. Feeder are one of my favourite groups, and this is one of my favourite songs of theirs.
Scissor Sisters -- Comfortable Numb. Again, a group I like. Which is redundant as it's not like I'll upload anything I don't like.
Ash -- Candy. Just pretend I said something interesting and descriptive here.
Hoobastank -- Crawling in the Dark.
Gerard McMann -- Cry Little Sister. Spooky song from an excellent film. Lost Boys if anyone doesn't know.
And a bonus.
Nsync. -- Crazy For You. Now I know most of you will have this, but it's baby!Sync! So get those hands bobbing in the air and dance in place *g*
If I've messed up coding just yell. If you want a letter, yell too.
