Oct. 18th, 2006 02:40 pmThe Chris post o' joy was a rousing success yesterday. Over 100 comments including pics, downloads and memories. Thank you all for playing along. There's downloads in comments here and here in case they were missed.
Also, I have things to pimp. *pulls on pimping hat*, which I like to think is purple with a huge purple fluffy feather that tickles your face as you wear it.
pensnest wrote a story that I adored. I won't say the pairing as it's a surprise, but I loved it, a lot. Go read, I've never steered you wrong. The lamp stuff doesn't count, okay?!

Second. There's been more news about Camp Sparkle. Now, there's good reasons why you should all consider coming to Camp Sparkle.
(1 )We're going to have a cottage. A cottage full of sparkly slashers.
(2) Some of those sparkly slashers are amazing cooks, and some *cough/Pen/cough* make the best death by chocolate ever! How can you turn up the chance of that? Chocolate cake
(3) I've heard there's a hot tub. You too can pretend you're an internationally famous boyband member lounging in the hot tub.
(4) Footage. Much footage with accompanying squee. You too can do the hand choreography for The Two of Us and Bye Bye Bye. You know you do it in private, at Camp Sparkle everyone does it!
(5) Movies. Want to see our boys in their movies? Why not do so in the company of others who understand that Lance rocked On the Line? Or, in the company of those who mock him with love
(6) Tea. Much tea.
(7) Conversations that range from dick size to animal transformation to everything in-between. Really, I wouldn't be surprised at anything I heard at a sparkly get together. Boyband members turning into tree frogs? Don't they always? An addition to this, I've seen so many stories birthed at these things, and that's always a pleasure.
(8) Did I mention tree frogs or lacquered frogs?
(9) It was a Brit sparkly gathering where Cramp originated. Wait! This is a good thing!
(10) You'll see me! I can honestly say that the people I've met at previous gatherings rock in so many ways. I get anyone that's worried about attending, believe me, it took me years to be persuaded to go to my first one, and even now I get nervous butterflies when I get close to my destination, but really. You couldn't meet a nicer bunch of people.
(11) Most of all. We love the sparkly boys, love them big time. Come and sparkle with us too!

Last night we went to the cinema as we haven't been for a while. We saw Hood Winked, which rocked, and Stick It, which I liked too. It was predictable, but predictable in a way that I enjoyed.
Today we've been grocery shopping, picked up the MiL from the gym, took my niece to nursery then came back to tidy up and do laundry. As soon as Corey comes home we're off to pick up books, drop him off at karate then onto his open night at school. Such exciting plans. I was annoyed at the grocery shopping as we've been collecting saving stamps to use for the Christmas food shopping, but the shop is changing owners, so the stamps had to be used.
Okay, kidlet is here. I need to feed him and get going.

Date: 2006-10-18 05:02 pm (UTC)Ryanair fly from Tampere to either Liverpool or Stanstead. Stanstead is probably your best bet, because there will likely be other people arrive at Stanstead, plus a few con-goers who live in London, so with luck we'll be able to arrange some variety of mass transport from London to the con. Right now you can fly out here on the friday and back on the monday for 50 EU return + taxes.

Date: 2006-10-18 05:17 pm (UTC)I'm flying Ryanair from Tampere to London, because I live so close. But I'm pretty sure I've read somewhere that Ryanair does have a cheap bus service from somewhere in Hki, so that might make it easier for you. And depending on when you book, the flight might be even cheaper than what nopseud said up there. ^^
If you're willing to spend more money you could consider flying to Birmingham, which I understand is the closest international airport. In that case, booking through Kilroy is probably the cheapest alternative.
Anyway, go and join the community right now, so you won't miss any important information! :)

Date: 2006-10-18 07:13 pm (UTC)(Since it's still five months away, we have plenty of time, so I suggest we keep an eye on the prices in case they have any good offers coming up. But I'd like to have them booked by sometime in December, I think.)
YAY!
