Jan. 27th, 2007 09:40 pmLetting people know where I've been for the last few days. On Wednesday I got really sick really fast. Cutting a long story short I ended up being admitted to hospital, I didn't want to but my brother called an ambulance and the paramedics advised I should go in, and the casualty people admitted me when I got there. Temp too high, blood pressure too low, heart rate too fast, just a load of toos.
It was a good thing that I did stay though as I just got worse. I had terrible vertigo to the extent that the room would roll when my eyes were open and each time I moved it felt like my body was spinning out of control. I spent Wed night hooked up to drips and blood pressure monitors and it really wasn't a good scene.
After that it was just a case of IV antibiotics and fluids and shoved in bed until I could actually move again. I had a bed with sides and everything, which was good because man, I needed those rails to get the leverage to even move an inch. After that though I was moved to a ward where you couldn't lie on your bed during the day, which seems silly to me, but what do I know? Half six in the morning the nurses would come in shouting, time to wake up ladies, then you'd have to get in your chair so the beds could be made, then stayed in your chair all day. I'm just glad the other ladies in the ward were so nice, because man, it was boring when I actually felt well enough to notice. Not helped that they'd done my drip so the tube snaked through the fingers of my right hand so I had no way of holding a book open.
But, I'm out now. I had a scare when they weren't going to let me out because my temp was still up and blood pressure down, but in the end I was let free and have pretty much cabbaged on the couch ever since.
I know James mailed a few of you, but I think he only contacted people he could remember at the time, so I know I've left a lot of people hanging, and I'm sorry for that.
Anyway, that's where I've been. Nowhere exciting I'm afraid.

Date: 2007-01-28 10:19 am (UTC)I am taking care of myself though, lots of lounging around and pill taking at the moment. Which to be honest is pretty much all I feel up to. I always know I'm really sick when I don't want to get online, and it wasn't until this morning that I wanted to spend time on here.
Thanks so much for the Chris hugs and thoughts, they're very much welcome.
