My in box was a thing of happiness this morning. First, people have joined up for the video challenge. That was such a relief, I always worry that there'll be no interest and I'll end up looking like a loser. Second, I got more comments on my Chris/Howie story. Poor little story, I thought it was going to stall on four readers only.

This good morning is in contrast to last night which was annoying. Corey was online late yesterday afternoon and he suddenly goes, what's all this writing? Seems he'd downloaded or clicked on something that installed this security bar trojan thing that just wouldn't go. It took hours of downloading removal tools and scanning to get it off there. To make things just that more interesting the flat screen monitor won't display in safe mode, so we had to get the huge old relic from the spare room. But it was done eventually and Corey told he has to use Firefox only from now on. He always uses IE but I just don't think it's secure.

Then when we did get to bed James noticed that our neighbour's kitchen window was wide open. Now, it was nearly 2 in the morning at that point and we were worried someone may have broken in. So we stood and watched for a while, my heart thundering when the kitchen blinds moved like someone was looking out. We discussed it for ages, what if they were just hot as opposed to something wrong, but the window was on the ground floor and it just looked wrong, so we called the police. They said someone was coming so we kept watch and suddenly two teens appeared, looking as if they'd come out of the back garden of the neighbours house. James called the police again, describing how they'd jumped the fence and had headed off into the carpark below our estate. A few minutes later 12 police turned up and checked out the house, and were soon talking to our neighbour. Which yeah, you feel silly then.

I have to admit, I spent the time before sleep giggling about our neighbours looking up and seeing all those policemen staring through the open window. I blame the adrenalin of standing keeping watch for so long.

ETA: [livejournal.com profile] sky_pie is active again. This is a wonderful comm dedicated to helping people improve their writing with the aid of writing exercises. Popslash based, it's run by [livejournal.com profile] pensnest and [livejournal.com profile] interlock, two people who totally know what they're doing. So, check it out.

Poor little story, I thought it was going to stall on four readers only.

You know, each time I post a story, I promise It that should It not get a single feedback or, like, just three of them, next time a fic meme pops up with the 'what is your most underrated story' question, I'll totally mention It and give It the love It deserves *g* Anyway, happy you got more than four readers :-)

Which yeah, you feel silly then.

Well, I understand the feeling but I also think you did good. I mean, you just never know what might happen...

That's a good idea. I may have to go pet my poor story, tell it I love it anyway *g*

I mean, you just never know what might happen...

Yeah, that's what we were saying. I just hope the neighbours agreed.

eah, that's what we were saying. I just hope the neighbours agreed.

If I were in their place, I think I would feel happy and relieved to know that my neighbours were on the look-out. I'd feel a bit safer that way.
