I've just been reading castalie LJ which mentioned clowns and have a question.

Does anyone actually *like* clowns?

I think they're evil creepy things and can't believe that they're aimed at children, and a lot of people seem to agree. So anyone like them?

clowns scare me. Don't know if it's pre- or post- Stephen King's It, but they scare me. Dolls scared me too - I was persuaded that they could move at night (thank you Mr. Andersen!)

And actually, clowns remind me of a Victor Hugo novel I read, in which people laugh at and are horrified by a man whose face has been mutilated on purpose, to make him a clown. Traditionally, monsters were suppose to make us laugh in circus - the clowns are just that actually. Monsters kids are supposed to like.

Someone gave a kid I babysat a clown puppet for a Christmas - it never even reached his room, he was too scared of it! I would have been scared of it too.

How about Corey? What's his opinion on it?

*coughs* forgot to mention that I'm still afraid of one particular stuffed rabbit - I swear, it's looking at me! I brought it to Montpellier and it's been away from my sight ever since... so yeah, I get scared easy, so of course, clowns scare me (hey, I won't go running away if I saw one! i'm not *that* scared!)

Some toys do that, just look at you with those glassy eyes. And yeah, it's not a run away fear of them, just that clowns creep me out when I see them.

Clowns seem to have a pretty sinister history. I bet if I looked they were used in some kind of tragic way.

Corey doesn't really like them either. His nanna knitted him one and it's been stuffed in his toy chest since he got it.

Yes, the conclusion is...clowns suck. Except for rodeo clowns.
