Oct. 22nd, 2007 04:24 pmI want to wish a very happy birthday to
luxshine She of the awesome pairing love and amazing imagination. Also, happy birthday for yesterday to
solariana. I hope it was a good one. *sends love to you both*
I have stories being sent for
autumnchallenge! Sadly due to drop outs it looks like we'll be a small group, but I like to think it means we're select and of great quality.
chootoy is a sweetheart and made me icons. Two Brennans and a Tony! She knows me well :)
The one I'm using is perfect because I was having the most vivid and detailed dreams last night. Skipping past the one where all my in laws were killed, I had another which was very much a long h/c Brennan centric Mutant X fic, which man, was so up my street! Though the fact he ended up running a shop installing security systems with Saul from Brothers and Sisters does puzzle me.
Oh yay! Another story just arrived!
James was sworn in a scout leader yesterday. The scouts were having a church service to celebrate their 100th anniversary, so he had to stand in front of the congregation to be sworn in. He's very proud. Of course it means another scout shirt and another lot of badges to sew on. Which doesn't make me at all happy.
Also, while we're on the subject of household stuff. I don't suppose anyone has any ideas how to extract a furry snake from out of a vacuum tube?
After church we and it was so good! It's such a beautiful romantic fairytale. I was spellbound the whole way through, and I was misty eyed at the end. It was just gorgeous, and I know for a fact we'll go again.
As part of the scout camp, James and Corey went to Beamish It's really close to where we live, a working museum of the past with a farm and houses re built brick by brick from the old pit towns. It was technically a cub camp, Corey just went along to help, but can you believe one of the kids was sent without a packed lunch. They knew they needed one, but his mam just dropped him off with no lunch and no money to buy anything. So he ended up sharing the lunch I'd packed for J & C. Corey bought himself a slate when he was there, I wasn't impressed when he asked if that was what I'd used when I was at school.
I need to go finish editing. We're going to see Nancy Drew tonight, and editing really needs to be finished before we go.

Date: 2007-10-22 03:39 pm (UTC)Unrelated, I've just been laughing at one of your comments because I totally called JC's mom by Lance's mom's name, so no wonder you were confused. Diane wasn't out making food for her son's friends, I just had a brain blip *g*

Date: 2007-10-22 08:04 pm (UTC)Of course it does!! I'm sooo looking forward to new popslash stories!!
I second the motion that Corey is old enough to learn how to sew on his own badges! He's a SCOUT, they're supposed to be able to be handy with everything, aren't they :-)
Beamish looks like the kind of place I would love to spend time at! Cultural history has always been one of my favourite interests.

Date: 2007-10-22 08:59 pm (UTC)Me too! It's killing me to have new fic in my in box. But I won't read until tomorrow.
Well, it's James' shirt that needs the badges sewn on to, and he can't do it. But I'm very much in favour of Corey doing his too.
Beamish is great. If you ever come up my way we'll go visit together.

Date: 2007-10-22 11:10 pm (UTC)I've sucked many things up in my time. Socks, magazine pages, bobbles. Never an uncooked bun though.

Date: 2007-10-28 10:01 am (UTC)also, snake in the vacuumer? >_< there's nothing you can push it out with? or does your vacuum do that thing where you can make it blow instead of suck?

Date: 2007-10-28 10:45 am (UTC)Thankfully the snake is free. I ended up taking the hose off and poking it out. I'll be more careful of furry snakes in the future *g*
