turpsIs it just me, or does it make no sense to post to a storyrec comm about a type of story you want, say you don't care about the pairing, but then add no *insert pairing here*. In that case, you do care about all pairings, stop lying! Own the fact there's pairings you don't like. It's okay, it's allowed.
Today I've been reading some of the multiple tabs I have open, and got side tracked reading Waycest, and wow. There's some bad stuff out there. Like, really bad. geneli4 posted an awesome waycest story yesterday, and I loved it a lot. Don't Stop, which is underaged Gerard/Mikey, so if you like that kind of thing, which I most certainly do, go check it out.
I'm sure you've all seen the new JC pictures, and if you haven't, Jilly has some at her journal here. I so love the scarf thing he's got going on. The way it's wrapped around his neck. So delicious.
I think JC and Ryan Ross need to meet up and talk about scarves, they could have very intense conversations about the best fabrics and designs, and how to artfully arrange them to the best effect. There could be lots of swishing and flipping. That would be fun.
Hmmm, I've just had to go change every mention of Waycest from wincest. I swear, my brain is insane at times.

Date: 2008-03-13 08:28 pm (UTC)They'd meet at some industry function in Los Angeles: Ryan is making his way to where Jon and Pete are talking at the bar and he bumps into some random guy because he isn't really looking where he's going (and because he and Jon may possibly have smoked up before leaving their hotel so Ryan is a little out of it) and when the guy turns round Ryan's stomach does this weird flippy thing because it's, oh my god, it's JC Chasez! (Ryan and Spencer may have been really into The Backstreet Boys when they were kids BUT they totally liked Nsync as well, they just never managed to see them in concert.) And Ryan kind of stammers out a "Sorry!" because he's too busy thinking how pissed Spencer will be that he missed out on meeting JC Chasez to speak properly, and JC smiles and says "No worries, man." then reaches out and strokes his fingers over the scarf that Ryan is wearing saying "I like this, is it Chanel?" Ryan beams at that because JC Chasez likes his scarf! and also it's totally one of his favourites - a genuine vintage Chanel scarf that Ryan found in a flea market in Paris - and the fact that JC is touching him even though they've only just met doesn't bother Ryan at all because, yeah, 3+ years of living in an enclosed space with Brendon will wear down anyone's personal space issues. So Ryan nods and tells JC that yes it's Chanel and that it's vintage and he tells JC how and where he found it because he's kind of proud of it and everyone else is bored with him telling the story (even Jon) so it's nice to tell it to someone who'll listen.
Then Ryan notices that JC is wearing a really cool scarf too, it's just plain black and kind of skinny but it looks really good with JC's outfit and Ryan thinks that it might be silk. JC has it wrapped round his neck twice in a way that Ryan has never managed to do (he can never get his scarves to lay that flat and hang that well) and so, without thinking, he reaches out and strokes JC's scarf just at the point where the two layers overlap and asks him how he gets it to hang like that. JC smiles really wide, the kind of smile that makes the corners of his eyes crinkle, and Ryan's stomach might possibly do that weird flippy thing again (but he'll never admit it to Spencer when he calls him later on to tell him and he certainly won't admit it to Jon) and JC puts his hand on Ryan's elbow and starts to guide him towards the 'comfort suite' saying "I'll show you." because there are these kick ass full-length mirrors in there that are perfect for making sure a scarf is hanging just right.
Meanwhile at the bar, Jon has been watching the whole time, trying to pretend he's not jealous and completely ignoring everything Pete is saying to him. In fact he doesn't realise that Pete has stopped telling him why Patrick is made of sunshine, rainbows and kittens (for the millionth time, seriously, Jon can repeat the whole speech by heart now) until Pete jabs him in the side with his elbow and laughs, saying "An ex-boybander just totally stole your boyfriend! Sucks to be you, Walker!". So Jon punches him back saying "Shut up, Ryan's not my boyfriend, he can talk to whoever he wants." (because Ryan's only sorta, maybe his boyfriend, they just have a thing and they don't talk about it because they're guys, okay) but really Pete is right and Jon's life does suck right now.*
[*clearly I am unable to write anything involving Ryan without having Jon be in it somehow due to that whole me acquiring an OTP issue. Dammit.]

Date: 2008-03-13 09:40 pm (UTC)JC would know who Ryan is as well because he saw the VMAs when Panic performed on them and he really liked their whole sub-vaudeville/circus thing they had going on, he totally loved their outfits. (He got a copy of their cd the next day and he thinks it's really cool. Chris thinks Panic are kinda derivative but JC ignores him.)
I had to get some Pete and Patrick lovin' in their somewhere and I tried really hard to work out a way to get Mikeyway in as well but, sadly, it was not to be. I'll try harder next time!

They are just freaking scarves-- then again he and JC may be the only two men I have ever seen wear scarves regularly. They really are more of a lady thing. One thing I really loved about this story though is that there was no actualy dialogue, which is odd because I am a dialogue person. I am totally content with stories that have very little other then dialogue--but this totally worked with it! It gave the story a really surreal feeling I thought actually-- which was perfect because it seemed Ryan was having a surreal experience meeting JC. And I totally dig the fact that he was star struck! I think that he would be-- with a Syncer or a Boy, because c'mon-- they are music monsters!
I don't know. I just thought this was cute and adorable and I dig it with a shovel. There needs to be more SparklyBandslash in this world.There has to be a quicker way to say that. Spandslash? BarklySlash? Spandomslash? Bandkleslash? I don't know. There has to be something though!
