May. 18th, 2008 06:55 pmI was given some fantastic mushroom recipes yesterday. Today I made
pierson's mushroom and potato chowder as linked by Turlough, and just. nom nom nom. So delicious. I bagged the rest of the mushrooms, so I now have ten bags on them in the freezer for the next recipe that I decide to try.
It's been such a lovely Sunday and now it's winding down. I've just had roast chicken and mash for dinner. Corey helped with the stuffing gravy which ended up as one lump or two instead of anything resembling a liquid. Still, it was lovely anyway. Then I need to get the sheets off the line and remake the beds. While I do that C has the dishes to wash as he kept putting off doing his cooking homework and now the lesson is tomorrow and he's got all the Sunday lunch dishes to do.
That story I've been reading has another part and the person I discuss it with isn't around. I need to discuss! Other than that, today has been a peaceful pottering around sort of day, uploading some icons before my extra spaces run out, reading some fic and catching up on the flist in between doing house-ey stuff.
For some reason my Panic pairing of choice has been Brendon/Spencer lately, so I've been enjoying some of that. Lots of Mikey fic too, and I've just read a very nice beginning of a popslash AU by

There's been a lot of talk about Pete getting married. A lot negative, a lot positive. I have to say the thought of Hemmy being his ring bearer gives me glee, and I hope he's going to be very happy and have lots of big toothed babies.
It's the second part of Tin Man tonight. While I enjoyed last weeks well enough I have no burning need to see the second part now. I think I'll just Sky Plus it and mess around online tonight.
I love lazy Sundays :)

Date: 2008-05-18 06:08 pm (UTC)Lazy Sundays are the best! I totally skipped the grocery shopping since it was raining and spent it inside snuggling with the cat. It's been a good day so far. I'm glad your day was good as well.

Date: 2008-05-18 06:15 pm (UTC)Lazy Sundays are awesome, and snuggling with the cat seems like a great thing to do. Did the Mikey/Frank happen or it a not writing kind of day?

Date: 2008-05-18 06:19 pm (UTC)I have, let me see, 649 words of the Mikey/Frank thing. I have left poor Frank alone and confused in Albuquerque when the last thing he knew he was going to bed in New Jersey. Poor Frank.

Date: 2008-05-18 06:31 pm (UTC)I may even noodle with it a bit more now that I have had a nap. I have to decide whether to stick with Frank's POV or whether to switch to Mikey's. I've never done an alternating POV story before (Well, Classic and Classic 2 were in different POV, but that was different, I think. Here I would alternate scene by scene). I think I need to show how the band is different without Frankie, though. Of course, I have to figure out how the band is different without Frankie, but there you go. Mikey POV.

Date: 2008-05-18 07:06 pm (UTC)Of course, even if you were being pushy, it wouldn't do you much good. I don't have much more than I've revealed to you already. This is still very much in the "cool idea, but where is it going?" stage. I've only just *now* realized I have to break the band (and I'm not sure how much I need or want to break them, because *boys*) to reflect the absence of Frankie.
And Frankie! I have his backstory all worked out, but how to get him from practical and security-driven to taking the leap necessary for joining the band... oy.
