Sometimes I'm the biggest idiot ever.

Last night I was wondering what to do with the two avocados I have. So, I went off to google recipes, except I had a major brain blip, and then spent ages googling advarcardos. I don't even know, okay? I knew it was wrong but it didn't click why until much later. Okay, so it was this morning it clicked. Really I should pretend this moment of immense stupidity never happened, but the evidence is there in all its cached google search glory.

The Fuck City Twitters delight me on a daily basis. Andy, keep twittering away, I love reading what you say.

Corey's off doing a scout scavenger hunt today. Many many scouts will be roaming the area in teams of six. They were sent off this morning with packed lunches, phones, a day long bus ticket and cameras and let loose upon the world. Goodness knows what they'll get up to. His group of scouts have won for the last four years, so they have a lot to live up to. So, fingers crossed.

James is at work too, so I'm catching up on my tv watching. I've seen NCIS this morning and think I'll hit Criminal Minds next.

Long, long ago, when I lived with my best friend and another friend in Chiswick, it was my turn to do the shopping so my BF gave me a list of some of the things she thought we needed. It included:

B R O C K E LY

"I thought it didn't look right," she said, as I mocked.

Personally, I like halved avocados with crunchy bacon and some nice vinaigrette dressing. Or, bacon, avocado and tomato sandwiches. Yum.

Hee! I suck at spelling too so I can totally relate to your brain blip.

Everyone loves the Fuck City Twitters, but I just can't get into them. The twitter format annoys me. I just don't "get" the short sentences. Trying to make sense of them frustrates me. I don't follow anyone's twitters, not even bf_sperrywinks.

Yeah, I'm all in favor of Andy being more vocal and people loving it, I just wish it was a format I could appreciate.

The only thing worse than picking a title, is writing the summary. I SUCK at writing summaries. I'm tempted to go back and rewrite all of my summaries.

How lame is that? But what else am I supposed to put? A rambling tale of emo band boys and obsessive supporting characters and the evil people that hurt them.

Totally inspiring! I expect many Frank/Mikey codas for BOB IN SPAAAACE, I hope you know (no pressure, heh)!!

So I'm reading the Bandom/Pride and Prejudice fusion story, and it treats homosexuality as a given and accepted part of society. It's an interesting and thrilling treatment, and I'm enjoying that aspect of it as much as anything. But I was having fantasies last night about continuing the world and picking up a bit of a Persuasion tilt, and what if a First Mate on a ship, wasn't a rank, but a husband? I was imagining Spencer/Brendon, but I think it works for Mikey/Frank too. Let Mikey be the younger brother forced out to sea as a career while Gerard inherits, but he finds he loves the sea, but then his family arranges his marriage to Frank Iero to form a shipping conglomerate with the Italians, so they meet on their wedding day and sparks fly, but they are both still uptight and nervous around each other. Then months at sea getting to know each other and falling in love.

I am being soooooo good and working on marythefan's story, FINALLY.

I'm surprised that there weren't more. It's a cool word - I'll have to see if I can concoct a definition for it.

It's a strange brand of eavesdropping... that they're sharing with us. Kinda like a party line, you know?

Well, Bob is Spaaace *is* classic - and you had said this would happen [that you'd become too attached to it as a title]. The Frank/Mikey vids weren't inspirational enough?

Don't forget their awkward, yet hot wedding night! Embarrassed about undressing n front of another person, a total stranger at that, yet curious about watching the other person's skin be unveiled.

Dimming the lights and fumbling in the dark. Soft gasps of surprised arousal and shock. Finally Mikey sliding his mouth onto Frank's and Frank jerking in stunned amazement. Because Frankie is a total innocent in this scenario, you see. *g*

See, I think it will be a slow building of pleasures. Mikey doesn't want to spook Frank, and he doesn't know Frankie well enough to know that Frank is dying for him to take it a step further each time. And Frankie doesn't know Mikey well enough to ask. Because while Frankie was a forthright child, he had it drilled out of him as not part of being a "proper gentleman."

And I was imagining a less than stellar past for Mikey- away at sea as a young boy and being taken advantage of, but what if he learned the pleasurably side of sex from Pete, another, older boy? They had this sweet affair before being split apart by assignments on different ships, and eventually became captains of competing ships. They don't talk now, but Mikey has heard through the grapevine that Pete has married and his First Mate is named Patrick. ♥

So Frank has lived this totally sheltered life in Italy and in boarding schools in England, which is how he comes to the attention of Mikey's family and is considered a suitable husband for Mikey. His best friend is Bob, a quiet, but forceful sort and heir to a nice estate up north. He helped keep the other boys from picking on Frankie and subsequently, but not intentionally, helped keep Frank pure.

Frank has fantasies, though. He loves adventure novels and Ivanhoe and imagines himself the hero and rescuing damsels in distress. He wants these things fervently, but also is intent on pleasing his family which is going through a rough time since the death of his father. He loves his mother and wants her to be proud of him. His mom loves him too, and knows he wants *more* and she hopes that the marriage to Mikey will provide it for him, although she doesn't say that to him. That wouldn't be proper.

He's had wet dreams about some of the other boys in his class- Spencer and Brendon, but he feels ashamed afterwards. He knows that isn't what good boys do. He doesn't masturbate, because that's not quite the thing you can ask other boys about and he knows it is wrong outside of marriage, but the yearning inside of him grows day by day.

He is cautiously excited about his marriage, but also shocked that it is to a stranger and he can't believe his mother would do that to him. What if Mikey is a monster? Still, it is the way things are, so he doesn't question it. Plus, it will solidify his family's position and he would do anything to keep his mother solvent and in the proper circles.

When he first sees Mikey, he is shocked. He was expecting this big commanding man, not a knock-kneed, rail thin, barely out of boyhood almost-man. His heart pounds quicker, though, when Mikey's lips quirk at him. Not what he was expecting, but maybe good. Mikey looks like someone he doesn't have to fear or be intimidated by, which is nice. Maybe they can be friends, partners. Frank feels a sliver of hope.

That was what I was picturing too when I read this! And your spelling problems reminds me of the slightly tipsy Nanny Ogg writing letters home in 'Witches Abroad' and wondering how you stopped spelling "banana" :-)

I'm afraid I can't be of any help with titles, I suck at just coming up with subject lines for my LJ entries! That's why I'm using the cheesy method of using almost-random lines from songs.

Ah! Oh, well, then. The classic thing to do is put some kind of dressing in the hole. When I was a teenager, avocado with prawns and pink sauce was very much the thing. (I don't think I've eaten it since, though.) Once upon a time my Beast bought me some truly yummy Avocado Dressing from, I think, Fortnum & Mason, but I can't get it any more. But avocado sandwiches are also good, especially with crunchy bacon. (I get it as pre-cooked strips.) Or you can mush it up with, um, stuff, to make guacamole.

Just don't eat them when they're rock-like, and if they've gone grey and mushy inside, throw them out. They should be pale green and solid but spoonable.
