Nov. 15th, 2008 10:48 amSometimes I'm the biggest idiot ever.
Last night I was wondering what to do with the two avocados I have. So, I went off to google recipes, except I had a major brain blip, and then spent ages googling advarcardos. I don't even know, okay? I knew it was wrong but it didn't click why until much later. Okay, so it was this morning it clicked. Really I should pretend this moment of immense stupidity never happened, but the evidence is there in all its cached google search glory.
The Fuck City Twitters delight me on a daily basis. Andy, keep twittering away, I love reading what you say.
Corey's off doing a scout scavenger hunt today. Many many scouts will be roaming the area in teams of six. They were sent off this morning with packed lunches, phones, a day long bus ticket and cameras and let loose upon the world. Goodness knows what they'll get up to. His group of scouts have won for the last four years, so they have a lot to live up to. So, fingers crossed.
James is at work too, so I'm catching up on my tv watching. I've seen NCIS this morning and think I'll hit Criminal Minds next.
ETA: Why are titles so hard? WHY!?

Date: 2008-11-15 04:25 pm (UTC)Frank has fantasies, though. He loves adventure novels and Ivanhoe and imagines himself the hero and rescuing damsels in distress. He wants these things fervently, but also is intent on pleasing his family which is going through a rough time since the death of his father. He loves his mother and wants her to be proud of him. His mom loves him too, and knows he wants *more* and she hopes that the marriage to Mikey will provide it for him, although she doesn't say that to him. That wouldn't be proper.
He's had wet dreams about some of the other boys in his class- Spencer and Brendon, but he feels ashamed afterwards. He knows that isn't what good boys do. He doesn't masturbate, because that's not quite the thing you can ask other boys about and he knows it is wrong outside of marriage, but the yearning inside of him grows day by day.
He is cautiously excited about his marriage, but also shocked that it is to a stranger and he can't believe his mother would do that to him. What if Mikey is a monster? Still, it is the way things are, so he doesn't question it. Plus, it will solidify his family's position and he would do anything to keep his mother solvent and in the proper circles.
When he first sees Mikey, he is shocked. He was expecting this big commanding man, not a knock-kneed, rail thin, barely out of boyhood almost-man. His heart pounds quicker, though, when Mikey's lips quirk at him. Not what he was expecting, but maybe good. Mikey looks like someone he doesn't have to fear or be intimidated by, which is nice. Maybe they can be friends, partners. Frank feels a sliver of hope.
