First off, for all you Merlin fans, I've had the pleasure to read along as [livejournal.com profile] castalie wrote her first Merlin story, and I've just seen that she's posted it. So go, read and feed. Virescit Vulnere Virtus

James and Corey are off to a party soon, but I'm staying in. One because I'm anti-social like that, two because I'm tired. I didn't sleep well last night. The heating had been on all day so when we went to bed it was boiling in the bedroom, then with one thing and another I stayed awake and James and I ended up watching a show about rich kids going on a cattle trail. That didn't finish until 3 then at 6 I woke with a nose bleed. Thankfully James was awake -- which is a whole other issue right now-- and he went for toilet roll as I stemmed the flow with his t-shirt. Thinking of which, anyone got tips to get blood stains out of fabric?

So I'm staying in, just me and the cats and dog. Tell me flist, what are you up to this Saturday? Anything fun?

Did you see the reveal of the new Dr Who?

Which has nothing to do with your post but I'm like that :-p

I did! I don't know the actor so can't comment on how he'll do. But he has nice hair apparently.

Yes, I am that shallow!

I don't know him either and I suspect his hair was a big factor in getting chosen as it's somewhat near the "rebellious" look David has.

I'll watch the first episode in 2010 to get a feel but for now, I must say, I'm disappointed. He doesn't seem to have the charisma the previous doctors had. And he's definitely no David or Christopher.

I'm watching the CSI episode Playing With Fire. Poor Greg just got exploded through the lab.

How weird about the nose bleed! I hope it is better now.

Yeah, I've just been to friendsfriends and people aren't pleased. But, if you remember people weren't pleased at David taking over from Christopher either, this new guy may turn out to be great.

Let's hope so anyway. There's a lot resting on his shoulders.

That's one of my favourite episodes. The guy really doesn't catch a break.

It's fine now, apparently just one of those freaky things. Though I wasn't pleased to wake up and realise I was bleeding to death!

Would it be sick of me to admit I own the third season DVDs just for this episode and the Greg whomping?

It's one of my favorite episodes too. I can handle this Greg whomping much better than him getting beat up. That's a little too hardcore for my tastes. Plus the whole him killing the guy thing. Poor Greg.

I can just imagine how freaky that was! I'm glad it is all better now.

Hydrogen peroxide. Cold water.

Good luck!

The part that kills me in Fanny Smacking is that they pull out his hair. That is so wrong!

No, what really gets me is that they put him in the room next to the guy he killed. That makes no sense! And I know, it makes for good tv, but no sense at all!

You're a star, thank you.

Because it was just my luck to pick up a pale blue t-shirt that now looks like it belongs in a splatter movie...sigh.

I hope you have a nice evening.

Are we talking canon or AU here? Because if it's the show, Nick. Always Nick.

Yes! There is so much that *hurts* about that episode! Hair-pulling, putting him next to the guy he killed. Even when they spit on him it is just so heart-breaking.

Thank you so much for the rec, sis! *kisses*

Good thing you stayed, you obviously need some quiet time. The almost-sleepless night was bad enough but talk about a waking call!

I went out with a couple of friends this afternoon then got back and, as you saw, I posted my fic.

Right now, I planted myself on my couch, all wrapped up because it's freezing in my flat - seriously, I have two pairs of socks, sweats, a t-shirt, a long-sleeved shirt, a hoodie and a cardigan. And I have a blanket covering my lap too - and I'm reading fics, with Torchwood on the telly. Quiet evening ahead :-)

But Brendon would be too young timeline-wise for Playing with Fire comforting. That was 6 years ago- Brendon would have been 15-16 (and I'm not into underage shenanigans).

Greg has to wait until Brendon grows up for his comfort. But it's coming Greg, I swear!

Speaking of AU. I keep on having these mock panic attacks that the show is going to Joss me and put PatD on the show. I'm like, they're from Vegas, it could happen! I got to write faster!

Damn those time lines! Can I have Reid instead?

But yes, Greg can be patient.

It could happen, and while it would be fantastic if it did, your fic needs to come first. Only then can panic guest star on the show.

Write like the wind!

I can definitely understand that you prefer to stay at home after that kind of night! (Not that I wouldn't almost always prefer to stay at home before going to a party :-) No sleep and then waking up with a nosebleed, ick! I hope it's just a one time occurrence!

It snowed a lot here today, very beautiful but I'd to buy cat food and it was less pleasant to be out in than to look at. I've spent a large part of the afternoon making icons as you already know, and now I'm catching up on the flist and thinking of what I feel like reading. I'll probably continue with 'Staring Through the Demons' that I started to re-read yesterday.

That sounds like a great way to spend time. How goes your WoW playing? Are you getting killed less yet?

I plan on spending time online while wrapped in a blanket. I'm such a party animal I can hardly stand it.

Oooohhh!!!! Reid would be interesting! He'd be about 19-21 and working on his PhDs. How intriguing would that be?

Don't get me started, now!

Greg can be patient. He doesn't mind playing the field for awhile.

My story so needs to happen first! Damn those Panic people! Making me panic about imaginary guest TV appearances!

I just bought the movie The Thin Man because that is what I have Greg and Brendon go to see on their date. I want to get in the proper frame of mind. *g*
