Feb. 2nd, 2009 10:48 amPansy was supposed to go to her post op check this morning. We loaded her in her cat carrier, set off for the vets and all is well.
Yeah, right.
What actually happened was, I got hold of her, she saw the carrier and suddenly become a screeching sharp-nailed demon from hell. I have the scratches across my chest to prove it. She flailed, wailed, wiggled, scratched, got away. We chased her around, tried to bribe with food, which oh so nearly worked. She ran upstairs, James chased her down, I went to grab her, missed, James and I had words, meanwhile Pansy is sitting on top of the kitchen cabinets, looking down, hurt in her eyes as if she's saying. Why? WHY!?
She's still up there now and after a phone call the vet says to just keep an eye on her wound and only bring her in if it looks infected.
Meanwhile, the UK has been brought to a screeching halt by snow. Schools are shut, transport is cancelled and minor roads are closed. But, Corey's school is still open and James had to go to work, though he's just phoned and said the police are shutting off roads over there, so who knows. He may be back yet.
Meanwhile I've been running scans because despite being fully protected my computer started warning about multiple infections. I removed 6 yesterday, but fingers crossed, they seem to be gone.
The weekend was also given over to multiple Desolation Row viewings, seriously, people, if there's not many stories based on that video I'll be so sad. Both AU and not, because Lyn-z, right there. Mikeyway looking hot as fire, that last scene in the van. GAH! Made myself an icon though I'm still looking for the perfect one. There was also the usual relative visiting and Sunday stuff. Oh, and Saturday night our neighbours having yet another scary sounding fight that ended with him outside yelling she was a slut and the police turning up.
One of the days James managed to bash his head and wasn't at all well for a while. He's fine now though, thankfully he has a hard head. I've also hit over 10k of the Panic running away/shelter fic. I was writing that last night and had to stop at one point because the part I was writing was so painful. My plan is to finish that scene today. Snow falling outside, hot chocolate to drink, Brendon fighting off a crazed counsellor, sounds good to me.
There was also over an hour of me using google maps to trace the route Ryan and Spencer used while running away and researching the best actual truck stop that they could reach by walking and which would also be a good gathering place for dodgy truck drivers. Of which there are many in Vegas. This I know from watching CSI *g*
Before I go though. I have to say Chris looked so good in his matching yellow and black golfing outfit. So good!

Date: 2009-02-02 12:47 pm (UTC)I was totally checking out truck stops and wondering if dodgy truckers would gather there. However, right at this moment S and R are in the car of a normal dude. The dodgy trucker is waiting at the next stop.
As for Brendon...sigh. That's all I have.

Date: 2009-02-02 10:12 pm (UTC)There's so much snow. It's unbelievable. And the media is making such a fuss about it too.
I haven't, though I have it tabbed. I also haven't written anything yet. I've been catching up on emails, before I'm shunned by people.
Awesome icon, btw!

But it's a tempting thought I must say.

Date: 2009-02-02 11:29 pm (UTC)Ouch! Cat scratches hurt like hell! Hopefully, her wound won't become infected and you won't need to take her to the vet again for a very long time. *keeps fingers crossed*

Date: 2009-02-05 07:39 am (UTC)Oddly...the mean cat is easier to get in her carrier than the meeker cat. Mean cat gets bound up in a towel like a burrito and inserted in the carrier like baker inserting bread into the oven. Meek cat tears up the towel and does just like Pansy and leaves me with scratches that make my doctor think I'm an abused girlfriend! My Mom and me resorted to dumping the meek cat in a REALLY huge cardboard box and duct-taping it shut.
It is incredible that you guys are getting so much snow! Never, in all of my Fall to Spring travels to the UK, have I seen snow over there! It must be a bitch to drive/walk through 'cause it is over here in Chi-town!

Date: 2009-02-05 09:46 am (UTC)We tried the towel trick on Pansy, she clawed at the thing like it was tissue paper to be shredded, which was a surprise because normally she's chilled about being held.
I'm going to keep your box trick in mind for next time.
It's weird seeing so much snow, and it's just keeping coming. It's insane.

Date: 2009-02-10 05:21 am (UTC)Regarding using a box...we used a very large one, one where if Pansy stretched out her legs she wouldn't be able to touch the sides. We had already punched holes in the box and once Giz was in the box we quickly taped it shut. The movers kept their mouths shut while we did this! :)
