Pansy was supposed to go to her post op check this morning. We loaded her in her cat carrier, set off for the vets and all is well.

Yeah, right.

What actually happened was, I got hold of her, she saw the carrier and suddenly become a screeching sharp-nailed demon from hell. I have the scratches across my chest to prove it. She flailed, wailed, wiggled, scratched, got away. We chased her around, tried to bribe with food, which oh so nearly worked. She ran upstairs, James chased her down, I went to grab her, missed, James and I had words, meanwhile Pansy is sitting on top of the kitchen cabinets, looking down, hurt in her eyes as if she's saying. Why? WHY!?

She's still up there now and after a phone call the vet says to just keep an eye on her wound and only bring her in if it looks infected.

Meanwhile, the UK has been brought to a screeching halt by snow. Schools are shut, transport is cancelled and minor roads are closed. But, Corey's school is still open and James had to go to work, though he's just phoned and said the police are shutting off roads over there, so who knows. He may be back yet.

Meanwhile I've been running scans because despite being fully protected my computer started warning about multiple infections. I removed 6 yesterday, but fingers crossed, they seem to be gone.

The weekend was also given over to multiple Desolation Row viewings, seriously, people, if there's not many stories based on that video I'll be so sad. Both AU and not, because Lyn-z, right there. Mikeyway looking hot as fire, that last scene in the van. GAH! Made myself an icon though I'm still looking for the perfect one. There was also the usual relative visiting and Sunday stuff. Oh, and Saturday night our neighbours having yet another scary sounding fight that ended with him outside yelling she was a slut and the police turning up.

One of the days James managed to bash his head and wasn't at all well for a while. He's fine now though, thankfully he has a hard head. I've also hit over 10k of the Panic running away/shelter fic. I was writing that last night and had to stop at one point because the part I was writing was so painful. My plan is to finish that scene today. Snow falling outside, hot chocolate to drink, Brendon fighting off a crazed counsellor, sounds good to me.

There was also over an hour of me using google maps to trace the route Ryan and Spencer used while running away and researching the best actual truck stop that they could reach by walking and which would also be a good gathering place for dodgy truck drivers. Of which there are many in Vegas. This I know from watching CSI *g*

Before I go though. I have to say Chris looked so good in his matching yellow and black golfing outfit. So good!

I can totally relate to the cat thing. We adopted two kittens last September and I spent forever chasing one of them when I was taking them to get fixed. It's frustrating letting a cat get the best of you!

It is frustrating! Pansy is so small but she ran rings around us and once she was up on the cupboards it was game over.

That's too bad about Pansy and your scratches. Silly cat.

More GoogleMaps and Dodgy Truckers! I love it! And Brendon with his own troubles, so ♥

She had the house in uproar this morning.

I was totally checking out truck stops and wondering if dodgy truckers would gather there. However, right at this moment S and R are in the car of a normal dude. The dodgy trucker is waiting at the next stop.

As for Brendon...sigh. That's all I have.

Bad Pansy! I never have any problems with Lancecat and neither did I with Sinbad. I think it's because the carrier lives in a corner of the living room all the time so they're used to it and don't associate it with being taken to scary places. Before I got Sinbad I read somewhere that this was the best way to do it and so far it seems to be working perfectly. (Not that two cats is that large a sample :-)

I'm so envious of you having all that snow! It's so unfair that you get it and we dont!!

Have you read [livejournal.com profile] thelemic's Desolation Row Waycest yet? It's so good!

I hope you managed to get a lot writing done!

We had her carrier in the house since she went for her op, but I imagine it was too late then. She sees it as the thing that carries her to the bad place. Which sucks because she will need to go back at some point I'm sure.

There's so much snow. It's unbelievable. And the media is making such a fuss about it too.

I haven't, though I have it tabbed. I also haven't written anything yet. I've been catching up on emails, before I'm shunned by people.

Awesome icon, btw!

Ariel used her open cat carrier for napping in for a few days, until the first time we used it to take her to the vets, and she's shunned it ever since.

All of mine can flee like crazy. Sometimes all you can see are cats zipping everywhere.

Are those Mer claws?

Date: 2009-02-02 10:14 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] llamabitchyo.livejournal.com
Nope. Mer has more claws (having extra toes), but they are rarely seen. As her feet as so insanely fluffy.

And actually, her feet look less fluffy than usual here.

You might want to think of getting a tranquilizer gun for occasions like that *g*.

Knowing my luck she would have toppled backwards and I still wouldn't have been able to get her *g*

But it's a tempting thought I must say.

Ouch! Cat scratches hurt like hell! Hopefully, her wound won't become infected and you won't need to take her to the vet again for a very long time. *keeps fingers crossed*

Cat scratches really do hurt, especially when you're trying to hold a whirling devil in your hands.

But the wound is looking good, so hopefully she'll be fine.

People have offered me TONS of advice on how to get my cats in their carrier and NONE of it has worked! It's been nice to get the advice, they all mean well, yet it's another thing altogether when it comes to implementing said advice!

Oddly...the mean cat is easier to get in her carrier than the meeker cat. Mean cat gets bound up in a towel like a burrito and inserted in the carrier like baker inserting bread into the oven. Meek cat tears up the towel and does just like Pansy and leaves me with scratches that make my doctor think I'm an abused girlfriend! My Mom and me resorted to dumping the meek cat in a REALLY huge cardboard box and duct-taping it shut.

It is incredible that you guys are getting so much snow! Never, in all of my Fall to Spring travels to the UK, have I seen snow over there! It must be a bitch to drive/walk through 'cause it is over here in Chi-town!

Yeah, that's it exactly. You can have all the plans in the world, but when a cat doesn't want to go in a carrier, it's almost impossible to get it in.

We tried the towel trick on Pansy, she clawed at the thing like it was tissue paper to be shredded, which was a surprise because normally she's chilled about being held.

I'm going to keep your box trick in mind for next time.

It's weird seeing so much snow, and it's just keeping coming. It's insane.

Pansy *so* sounds like Gizmo!

Regarding using a box...we used a very large one, one where if Pansy stretched out her legs she wouldn't be able to touch the sides. We had already punched holes in the box and once Giz was in the box we quickly taped it shut. The movers kept their mouths shut while we did this! :)
