Happy belated birthday to
vaudevilles. I hope you had an amazing day with you and yours. You're a miss. ♥
Oh man, what is LJs new 404 page? I tried to post a comment and was suddenly faced with a mean looking goat with mad eyes! It was looking at me!
Something better.
dine linked to this page of cute. Cats in a box. Many cats in many boxes!
I got my waysplus one assignment. Hours later I can look at it without wanting to hyperventilate.
I'm the worst trekker ever because I've only just watched the new Star Trek movie. I have Kirk issues, big ones, and I know everyone loved it but there was always that doubt. Obviously I'm insane because I also loved every single minute, and unsurprisingly think Chekov is all kinds of adorable.
I've been getting more comments on my stuff at AO3 lately, which reminds me. I must remember to upload the rest of my stories.
Yesterday we had to buy a tomato house. My reasoning that as newbies some of the plants we planted would die? That hasn't happened. Even after giving away many to my sister we still have lots of plants. Lots of plants. The greenhouse was crammed with them, and as for the courgettes. I've had to replant them already. Today the lawn has been reseeded. Hopefully the birds won't eat it all. Or the seeds blow away because wow is it windy today. We've also set away a mushroom growing kit, and you know, sometimes I wonder if all the effort is worth it. Like when due to various things I ended up watering the plants in the greenhouse at midnight, when it was raining. Or when I was digging the flowerbed with my trowel and my hand slipped and I took the skin off my knuckles. But then we'll pick a newly ripened strawberry and eat it still warm from the sun, and yeah. It is worth it.
In an hour or so we're off to do the usual Sunday visiting relatives thing. Hopefully dad's having a better day as last time we saw him his speech was terrible. Then there's things to do around the house because it looks like a tip right now. Then tomorrow Corey's back at school, he hasn't be well so has been moping around and planting himself on the couch. Mostly with his MP4 player because he's suddenly developed a thing for the kinds of music you hear on Kerrang. Score one for mam brainwashing I feel.

Date: 2010-07-04 03:26 pm (UTC)That page is fabulous, so many adorkable kitties! It reminds me of the LOLcat I saw some time ago: it was a pic of some open outdoor space with a numbers of boxes laying around and in each box sat a cat, the text read "I think the cat traps have worked" :-)
I'm happy to hear that your gardening adventures are so successful. And yeah, when I sit on my balcony drinking my morning tea and admiring the flowering geraniums and pansies I also feel it was worth it. A tip to avoid skinned knuckles and other mishaps is to buy a pair of gardening gloves that's thick enough to stand up to some damage but thin and flexible enough to not imped your dexterity. I bought a pair at the plant nursery for 5 pounds and they've been worth every penny. No more completely ingrained dirt under the fingernails and no more scrapes and cuts!
You're a terrible mother, brainwashing your kid into liking the same music as you do ;-P

I can imagine that so easily. Cats seem to have a box addiction, I know mine do. If there's an open box in my house odds on there'll be a cat inside.
I really need to get some gloves because my hands are in a right mess at the moment. At least they've stopped reacting to whatever had them covered in red, raised lumps. So yeah, next trip to the gardening centre and I'm getting gloves.
I've totally brainwashed him! So now I watch Kerrang downstairs, Corey in his room, and James goes quietly insane *g*

School? Doesn't Corey get the summer off?

Date: 2010-07-04 11:14 am (UTC)It was so good! And your icon! How is he so adorable and just \o/
He does get the summer off but doesn't break up for a few more weeks. Then no doubt will spent 50% of his time in bed, and the rest divided between eating and being on the X Box live.

And yeah for yardwork! It's awesome that you have a greenhouse and all! I really admire that (I don't have a green thumb).

Date: 2010-07-04 04:38 pm (UTC)The fact that I actually liked reboot Kirk was an awesome surprise.
Well, our greenhouse is tiny and made of plastic, but I'm enjoying it anyway :D
