Happy belated birthday to [personal profile] vaudevilles. I hope you had an amazing day with you and yours. You're a miss. ♥

Oh man, what is LJs new 404 page? I tried to post a comment and was suddenly faced with a mean looking goat with mad eyes! It was looking at me!

Something better. [personal profile] dine linked to this page of cute. Cats in a box. Many cats in many boxes!

I got my waysplus one assignment. Hours later I can look at it without wanting to hyperventilate.

I'm the worst trekker ever because I've only just watched the new Star Trek movie. I have Kirk issues, big ones, and I know everyone loved it but there was always that doubt. Obviously I'm insane because I also loved every single minute, and unsurprisingly think Chekov is all kinds of adorable.

I've been getting more comments on my stuff at AO3 lately, which reminds me. I must remember to upload the rest of my stories.

Yesterday we had to buy a tomato house. My reasoning that as newbies some of the plants we planted would die? That hasn't happened. Even after giving away many to my sister we still have lots of plants. Lots of plants. The greenhouse was crammed with them, and as for the courgettes. I've had to replant them already. Today the lawn has been reseeded. Hopefully the birds won't eat it all. Or the seeds blow away because wow is it windy today. We've also set away a mushroom growing kit, and you know, sometimes I wonder if all the effort is worth it. Like when due to various things I ended up watering the plants in the greenhouse at midnight, when it was raining. Or when I was digging the flowerbed with my trowel and my hand slipped and I took the skin off my knuckles. But then we'll pick a newly ripened strawberry and eat it still warm from the sun, and yeah. It is worth it.

In an hour or so we're off to do the usual Sunday visiting relatives thing. Hopefully dad's having a better day as last time we saw him his speech was terrible. Then there's things to do around the house because it looks like a tip right now. Then tomorrow Corey's back at school, he hasn't be well so has been moping around and planting himself on the couch. Mostly with his MP4 player because he's suddenly developed a thing for the kinds of music you hear on Kerrang. Score one for mam brainwashing I feel.

The new LJ 404 page is SCARY! The first time I saw it I got so unnerved by the goat stare that I closed it without actually reading what the text said.

That page is fabulous, so many adorkable kitties! It reminds me of the LOLcat I saw some time ago: it was a pic of some open outdoor space with a numbers of boxes laying around and in each box sat a cat, the text read "I think the cat traps have worked" :-)

I'm happy to hear that your gardening adventures are so successful. And yeah, when I sit on my balcony drinking my morning tea and admiring the flowering geraniums and pansies I also feel it was worth it. A tip to avoid skinned knuckles and other mishaps is to buy a pair of gardening gloves that's thick enough to stand up to some damage but thin and flexible enough to not imped your dexterity. I bought a pair at the plant nursery for 5 pounds and they've been worth every penny. No more completely ingrained dirt under the fingernails and no more scrapes and cuts!

You're a terrible mother, brainwashing your kid into liking the same music as you do ;-P

Sounds like you've got to invest in a pair of earplugs for poor James ;-)

That goat is seriously crazy scary looking. I got rerouted to that sometime yesterday and I could hit the back button quick enough because damn it it was scarier than that stupid burgerking 'King' dude

I liked the nutrek movie(it didn't hurt that Karl was in it*my LotR actor love sometimes knows no bounds*)

yay for gardening:D

....it's always sad when you think something is super scary(aka the 'king') and then something else comes around and just completely steam rolls over it in the scary as fucking hell department.

!!(I might have gone and seen it in the theaters like three times*shifty look*)

YAY STRAWBERRIES....boooo having to wait.

Go you and your green thumb!!!

The Star Trek movie was awesome! I'm glad you finally watched it!

I think I need a black thumb to kill some of them off before the house is engulfed *g*

It was so good! And your icon! How is he so adorable and just \o/

He does get the summer off but doesn't break up for a few more weeks. Then no doubt will spent 50% of his time in bed, and the rest divided between eating and being on the X Box live.

That new 404 page is TERRIFYING. And the old one had cycling jokes! I disapprove. >:(

The page of cats is much better.

The fruits of all that labor, from skinned knuckles to watering in the rain, *are* so worth it! The field out behind my parent's house used to be full of wild strawberries and eating them right off the plant was so delicious! It was also safe since it was an abandoned field with no chemicals being sprayed on 'em. Now you've got me wanting to plant some next year!

If anyone had told me last year I'd be out watering in the rain and sweating it out digging flower beds I'd have laughed. Now it's something I'm really enjoying.

Nom nom nom. A field full of wild strawberries, what a delicious thought! You should plant some next year. We have ours in containers and they're growing just fine.

I have Kirk issues, big ones
What kind of issues? Sorry, I'm just curious lol

And yeah for yardwork! It's awesome that you have a greenhouse and all! I really admire that (I don't have a green thumb).

Kirk in the OS annoys the hell out of me. Just thinking of him makes me grit my teeth. He's so oily and annoying and he always thinks he's right and he has sex with anything in a skirt and he's so wooden, which really, how does he get all those women when he's so irritating? The man must be amazing in bed because he has little else going for him. And then we saw William Shatner at a Trek con and he came across as irritating so that bled to his character.

The fact that I actually liked reboot Kirk was an awesome surprise.

Well, our greenhouse is tiny and made of plastic, but I'm enjoying it anyway :D
