This morning was Bins 2 -- Terri 0

I got a call from the school yesterday saying it would be off again, so didn't bother setting the alarm. Only to wake up after nine remembering it was recycling bin day. They're usually here first thing which is why I put that bin out the night before, last night I totally forgot. So I hurry downstairs, shove on my shoes and venture into the snow in my pjs. At which point it strikes me this isn't going to be the usual few seconds bin run of most weeks. First I had to actually move the bins, which were blocked in by solid walls of snow feet high. Then get them out of the wells onto the path, which hasn't been shovelled since all this snow started. Managed to drag one half way along, and realised I had to get the gate open. After a lot of kicking of snow to get it to open at least a few inches, I saw that that even if I got the gate open enough to get the bins out I'd need to lift them up about a foot to get to the level of snow on the path outside. At which point I thought, screw it, and went back in.

mini_nanowrimo posted their spreadsheet and I ended with a total of 20738 words for November. Which is way down compared to last year but not bad considering all that was going on. Plus, I wrote and hit my target every day, so that was of the good. Those words were mainly shared between the killjoys plus Bob gsf and the travelling slave fic, plus a few scraps of other stuff here and there. My aim is to get both finished by the end of the year, but I suspect that may be a little ambitious.

Some pimping now, which I meant to do yesterday but it slipped my mind.

While this one just makes me go, oh Mikey.

Which I think is a good time to introduce the fact that in my last post someone encouraged a Frank/Mikey retell of Grease. So far we have Frank as Danny, the brash guy who falls in love with the sweet Sandy/Mikey. For further visual details, think Mikey in very early days at first, then transformed into Mikey of the bird's nest era complete with eye make-up, tight pants, studded belt around his slinky hips and tiny t-shirt. There would be dancing on a fun house! There would be Mikey singing Hopelessly Devoted to You in his pyjamas and being all woeful! There would be Frank on the swing set and being dejected, Aloooooooone at the Drive in D:. There would be awesomeness!

But tell me LJ/DW, where would everyone else fit in? Would Gerard make a good Frenchie? LynZ Kenickie? Who gets to gyrate around and sing Greased Lightening?

It's been too long since I've seen Grease for me to contribute to that question meaningfully, but the image of Mikey as Sandy is... um. That is inspiring. I did laugh at Frank as Danny, because... short! But endearing. Please write this.

I think my favorite thing about that Epic Weird Comic Book Elevator Pose pic is that Ray is nowhere to be found. He's already in the elevator rolling his eyes. And possibly snapping the picture.

The image of Mikey as Sandy is killing me. Talk about strange casting, and yet, over at LJ he's now wearing leather, his boots of awesome and glitter along his cheekbones.

Frank would have an extra high quiff so he appears the same height as everyone else. Yes.

Poor Ray. I suspect that he often wonders what the hell he's doing with that bunch of fools. He doesn't even think about having a family as he already has three fully grown kids to watch and ensure they don't die of starvation/falling off a high stage/material melding into their skin.

GREASE. *BOUNCES* OOOOOH, THAT WOULD BE VERY FUN. I AGREE. AND THINK MORE PHOTOGRAPHIC REPRESENTATION IS NECESSARY FOR THIS PROJECT.

I wouldn't have if the recycling bin wasn't full. I was so annoyed, but thankfully Corey got them out eventually. Watch they won't be picked up now.

I think 90% of those words are Bob and Mikey scenes. Though Mikey and Frank have finally kissed in the gsf.

I love Mikey's ugly hat. He wears it well, and obviously loves it.

I'm impressed that you at least tried to get those bins out in all that snow. I know I would have given up much earlier than you did.

I don't think I've seen either Frank or Ray with that long hair before. They're looking totally adorable! The elevator pic is hilarious and I completely agree with what you said above about Ray just sighing and rolling his eyes at his band's antics. Poor Ray, his life is so hard :-)

I've never seen Grease but I'm sure that any song-and-dance movie involving Mikey and Frank as the main couple can't be anything except terminally absurd. And awkward. Like Bambi on ice... There's a Bob/Gerard Grease II story by

sinden and in that one Pete and Patrick is alluded to as having been the original Grease couple. That idea also makes me boggles but not nearly as much as Frank and Mikey does :-)

PS I completely forgot: That's a fabulous word count when fandom's been as active as it's been this month. You totally rulez!! I'm keeping my fingers crossed you'll get both of them finished this year.

After all that effort the binmen didn't even come to pick them up! So they needed hauling back in again.

Frank's hair looks like it needs a good wash, which is unusual for him. Poor Ray, with Bob gone he has to endure the insanity alone. I'm sure he loves the crazy times really, though.

Just the thought of Mikey and Frank singing and dancing makes me smile so hard. Frank would be the shortest and most cheerful T Bird ever! And I suspect Mikey's as far away from virginal as you can get.

But Bambi on ice. I can't stop thinking about that now *g*

Thank you! There's more chance of getting the Killjoys story done, but you never know, both could happen.

ray looks properly debauched in that picture with mark and omg that last picture of mikey just had me fall of the chair. well. in my mind i fell of the chair. in real life i just sat and stared with my mouth open. how so pretty, mikeyway?

OMG THAT GREASE REWRITE HAS TO HAPPEN!!!!!!!!!!! pretty puh-lease? i'll want nothing else for christmaaaaas haha i've been a good girl this year...
