Date: 2010-12-18 10:05 pm (UTC)Mikey steals one of Korse's bikes. Wipes out and Bob finds him unconscious in the desert.
Despite himself Bob takes Mikey and the bike home. ( Bob lives off the grid with Patrick and works as a mechanic, but as we later find out, is also part of an rebellion based on fighting Korse etc via tech means and not actual physical battles )
Mikey is very surly as he's in pain, can't walk and just wants to go home already. Bob is grumpy as he's got this well known zone runner in his home, a zone runner who's rude to boot.
Bob takes Mikey home once he's sure Mikey won't actually die from being moved. Is threatened by the others who of course think he kidnapped Mikey and drives off thinking that thank fuck he's alone again.
But then Ray comes to visit, offering Bob stuff in trade if Bob fixes and improves their vehicals. ( which of course is a way for the KJs to thank him for saving Mikey without actually saying so, as they could do those fixes themselves )
Bob starts going over. Ends up babysitting Mikey who's bedridden and still surly at first, but they start to become friends and Bob's all, oh, I sort of like these people.
Things happen. Bob starts to notice that hey, the Killjoys are really close, goes to see Lindsey who's in charge of one of the family camps in the zones and is told to stop being so scared and try for happiness for once instead of hiding away, finds out from Ashlee that Pete -- who's a rebel working under deep cover in Scarecrow -- knows Mikey, and at this point is sheltering from a dust storm in the diner and has just been told he can sleep on the shared mattresses with all the killjoys. Which is the point where Bob finds out that really close is really really close. In which I mean Bob is about to wake up to some naughty goings on. I just haven't decided what yet.
And I bet that's clear as mud!
