The cats caught another mouse this morning. I looked along the passage and Pansy was swiping at this brown mouse and it was dragging its back legs and it was horrible. Our house is really close to the rubbish dump that serves the whole area and I suspect that's where the mice are coming from, and trying to get inside due to the cold. But I don't want them inside. After last time we put down sonic repellent things, but obviously those don't work.

It was a one night scout camp last night and both Corey and James were supposed to go, but they weren't happy with James sleeping in a chair so he came home late and went back first thing this morning. Which meant I got to wake up, get him ready and could climb back into bed. Where I slept for many more hours.

Fannishly, these last few days have been amazing! The AP article owns my heart. They're geektastic, casting their own versions of movies, ka-kaw, the secret santa, the very end with the group hug as described by Mike <333333 With a brief D: for the Bob and Mikey section. Then there was the dead mic interview in all its glorious, amazing, awesomeness, and just everything. Band of my heart. Really.

I've signed for both waves of BBB, however, I've also been told I can't maim anyone too much. Which is fine, as I have ideas that don't involve too much maiming. Little wisps of ideas just now, but they're there. Also, I signed up for random_bandom where I'm not so secretly hoping to get the chance to write Mikey/Ryan again. Because at some point them going out shopping for dog outfits has to be written.

ETA: Tracking kink memes means I get emails with such intriguing titles as 'Gerard gets gang banged' I just read the story it linked to and holy hell Rimming, felching, spit roasting, dirty talk, spanking, all kinds of good stuff all in one hot MCR gsf package.

Ugh, that's so awful, seeing cats play with mice. Stupid mice should stay outdoors!

Of course you can't maim anyone too much! There have to be a happy ending after all and you can't have that if people are too damaged!!

I'm on the fence about the sonic things, but what definately helped get rid of the inside-mice was finding where they were getting in and filling the crack with tinfoil. Apparently they hate chewing on tin foil, so won't break back in the same way.

tinfoil - not just for keeping aliens out of your brain ;p

I'm going to talk your ears off! It's a shame I don't have the knowledge to write some kind of paramedic story. Just think of the possibilities. Ryan getting knocked over. Jon breaking an ankle trying to run, Frank getting bitten by a fat dog. Then Mikey could be a hot nurse! Who's then attacked while working in the ER. It would be fabulous!

They are, it's been a great few days fandom wise.

Hmmm, let's see, so far you have Ryan in a coma thanks to his inability to remember to look both ways while crossing the road, Frank has rabies (because it was obviously a fat, rabid dog), Jon has complications from his broken ankle like, say, a blood clot that's slowly working its way up to his brain, and Mikey had been stabbed and/or shot by a crazy guy in the ER. You just need to throw in someone being kidnapped and kept in a cage, and someone else having amnesia and then I think you're all set! *g*

Mikey was being all hot while tending to rabies!Frank, coma!Ryan and ondeath'sdoor!Jon and Pete comes in, all stealth and blank and stabs Mikey in the stomach! ( Obviously this is some kind of old, weird hospital as there's a cage in the corner ) and just by chance Gerard is coming to visit and sees the stabbing and is all, Noooooooo!! He runs to get to Mikey, slips in the blood and bashes his head off the side of coma!Ryan's bed. At which point Pete scoops him up and throws Gerard in the cage!

Luckily, for everyone else if not for him, Jon chooses that exact moment to flatline and equally-hot!nurse Bob shows up in response to the alarm. He rolls his eyes at the scene of carnage in the blood-soaked ward in a stoic and Bob-like manner, and then resuscitates Jon, sends Mikey off for surgery, hauls Pete off to the psych ward and unlocks Gerard's cage. And then after 10k or so of people slowly recovering from their various traumas and another 10k or so of Pete having Guilt (it was his car that hit Ryan and his fat dog that bit Frank), they all live happily ever after! \o/

Well, see, he was out in his car trying to find his dog after it escaped as he was taking it to the vet when Ryan stepped out in front of him, and then Pete hit his head during the impact, hence the amnesia! But it's all okay because part of his therapy is to talk with the people he hurt and he and Mikey fall in love during their 'I'm sorry I went crazy and stabbed you' meetings. :D

DUDE I'm totally sure you could make loss of a limb work. Think of all the angst and trouble with phantom limb syndrome and the emotional impact.(totally is not helping I KNOW:D) Also dude I love the comment linage going on about this. Comas, cages, amnesia, near death.

You know you could always make it some weird au world where there are cages for the crazy people that sometimes wander in.(like maybe psychology doesn't exist and mental health practices aren't as up to date...plus dude it would make the ankle complications easier to explain...though coma might be slightly more difficult depending on how much tech you wanted to insert.....and yeah I'm prolly thinking too much on your stuff when I should be wondering exactly how much I'm going to mess with Brendon*which the answer to that is prolly very very very obvious*).

Cats can be relentless. I know it's their nature to chase mice but I didn't like seeing it.

You missed the awesome out of that. You're going to be amazing at BBB. You have the ideas and the talent, so no fretting.

I'm always in favour of worlds where medical care is a little delayed, which can lead to delicious h/c. Of which cages are very much so. I'm thinking coma could be hand waved away as long as there's basic equipment to give nutrients. I mean, the bare basics, yeah, but if coma!Ryan is getting those and hot nurse Mikey is attending to his physical needs, like making sure there's no bed sores etc, well that would work.

Poor Brendon. Be afraid!

Same here actually because it makes the story soooo much sharper without what could seem like an easy fix. And that would totally work:D. Really it would be all about turning him and changing the sheets and sponge baths. Also probably limb movement.

Probably because the Pirate idea I have isn't rainbows and puppies(of course). And I can't help it...though I'm also an equal opportunity hurter(I would type h/cer...but I'm not always good at bringing the comfort) so no one is really safe.

Top mouse tip -- even when they look like they're practically dead, they'll surprisingly often recover if you pop them in cardboard box and put them in a dark quiet place for a while. Even if they're dragging their legs, or completely unconscious, as long as they don't have big bits bitten out of them they're pretty tough.
