I've just seen the most horrible thing walking home from school. The way the schools are situated a good majority of the secondary and primary students meet around the park/church area of the town. It's always packed at 3.30 and was today. Corey and I were just coming through the church yard and we saw a load of secondary pupils in a huge mob. There were more and more joining in, hanging on the railings to see. In the middle was a young boy getting the crap beat out of him. He only looked about 14, when he was dragged out by someone his face was ruined. They were like animals, there were young children there coming home from nursery and the primary school. One young girl got hit and she was screaming. The police were phoned and luckily the station is only a minute down the road, so the sight of three police cars broke them up.

We were waiting at the bus stop after and some boys were bragging about how they kicked a girl, and others complaining about police harassment, and I just thought, what the hell is wrong with them? The thought of sending Corey to that school frightens me and it's still 4 years away.

I know it's naive but I don't see why anyone has to do things like that.

I totally agree. I hate when I say things like that because it makes me feel really old, like one of those people that say, things were better when I was young. But at times it just feels like that, even though rationally thinking kids were getting beaten up then, I just didn't see it.

kids can be so cruel. I know they fight, but to gang up on someone to that extent is just excessive.
