Oct. 3rd, 2003 11:35 amYou know what's freaking annoying?
Pop up ads that pop up every ten minutes advertising pop up ad killers. I kid you not. I've always used noads but when I went to install it says I already have a version, which I don't not on this computer. BT also makes a big deal about a pop up ad stopper in its broadband ads. Which is great if I knew where it was.
Also, I haven't been able to connect to Google for two days! I feel like my right arm's been cut off, because...man, Google is my home page. The things I google for run into the thousands. It's found me studded cock rings, sex machines, sites, pictures, on occasions I even use it for 'normal' things, like route maps ;) But Google! Is gone!
Continuing on the computer problems theme, anyone familiar with XP know what that stupid blue paper clip thing is that keeps appearing on my desktop? It freezes the page sometimes and at others just sits there looking annoying. I'm liking XP a lot now that I've tailored it to me, but that paper clip is driving me nuts.
Now I'm off to do my drabble for the boyband 100. The challenge is punishment, and my mind wants to go in a BDSM direction, but we'll see.
Which reminds me. Sis, read something I want to discuss with you later, very interesting and had the *hottest* scene, like my favourite lap scene but with the top lying down, and the bottom riding him. Man, it makes me shiver thinking about it.

Date: 2003-10-03 04:28 am (UTC)Google's working fine for me too. (Nooo! Google down! It's the Apocalypse!)
Have you tried Opera as a browser? Comes with its own pop-up ignore feature, and is generally very spiffy.
Can't help with XP. I have to use it on one of the computers at work, and prectically the first thing I did was tell it to pretend to be Win 2000. :-)

Date: 2003-10-03 05:37 am (UTC)I wishI'd resemble Lance just now when he's sat worried about Google going down *g*Must find out what's gone wrong and why I can't use the site.
I'll have a look at Opera. I'm afraid to say that Bill Gates has brainwashed me and I didn't think of anything but IE. Thanks for the suggestion.

While I'm campaigning for Freedom From The Evil Empire, I'll rec Notetab, which is a basic text editor that I do all my writing and HTML in. It's fabulous, very stable, handles big documents a lot better than Word, and has all kind of neat features like regular expression searching that make editing easier. True, it doesn't do a lot of things that an actual word processer does, but I still massively prefer it over Word, because I like plain ascii text files for the standardisation.
