Jul. 24th, 2011 12:34 pmThe pictures of Gerard, Lindsey, Mikey and Alicia shopping at Comic Con make me smile. But the one below is my favourite by far.

You know they'll have thousands of pictures like that.
annemaris is awesome and made this gif of pouty Mikey in action. I have to keep tabbing back to have another look *___*
I've been trying to finish reading the wave one BBBs before wave two arrives, so some recs. This morning I read Blaming Frank, which is present era MCR GSF and I enjoyed it a lot. The sex is hot and some scenes excessively so, between the Mikey/Ray wall sex, with bonus carrying ♥ _ ♥ and an excellent Frank/Mikey rimming scene I was very happy.
Last weekend I read Draculoids Will Never Hurt You, the killjoys origin story, and it's incredible. The world building is amazing and I fell in love with all the characters, especially Show Pony.
Then during the week I read James Cameron Got It Wrong In which 2005 Frank ends up in killjoys time. Considering who wrote it I knew going in I'd like, but I really liked.
I still have so many more to read though. I need to read like the wind.
My wave 2 has been picked for art and mix. I still feel the need to apologise and say, it will clean up, promise.
Corey's room has been painted and he's got it looking very spiffy. Paint casualties included Milo's tail and the front of my dress, when I got white paint right down the front of it. Thankfully Vanish and a quick wash got it out. He needs a new carpet and curtains now, also a new wardrobe as moving the one he's got almost made it fall apart. He also broke up from school on Friday, so soon it'll be uniform buying time again. At least he's already got his jumper, so there is that.

Date: 2011-07-24 02:41 pm (UTC)I really liked Blaming Frank. I didn't have any expectations at all but it was such a fun story with so much hot sex. My favourite scenes were completely different from yours though ;-)
I've just finished Draculoids Will Never Hurt You and it really was fantastic. I love how central art and music was to the whole story and I also loved how everyone had their own motives for doing what they're doing. (I'm terribly worried about Gabe and Pete though!)
Wasn't James Cameron Got It Wrong fabulous?! She even made me cry! Bringing someone from our time forward into the Killjoys universe really brought home what terrible things had happened.
I've "only" got four stories left on my to-read list from wave one and I hope I'll manage to get around to reading all of them before the posting starts for wave two. Somehow I doubt it though. Particularly since I've claimed a story to make art for and that has to take precedence.
I saw that your story already had gotten claimed for both, go you!!

Date: 2011-07-24 03:13 pm (UTC)I couldn't remember any buzz about Blaming Frank at all, which is a shame as it's a solid story with really hot sex, and as your comment shows, varied enough that it has scenes for every taste.
They just replied to my comment and said there's a follow up in wave two which I'm very happy about.
I'm worried about them too! It was a story I was sad to finish. The world building was perfect, and I love how it was different to the majority of Killjoys stories, where it's not so much black and white ( or I suppose in killjoys terms, white or colours ) but shades of grey where people still work because they have to and in fact some seem content to live their lives that way.
I also liked how Frank was so dubious about the killjoys at first and what they wanted with him. And no wonder. I'd be freaked too. There's just so much I loved, and the concert was amazing, even with it ending badly.
James Cameron Got It Wrong was so good. I expected it to be hot but I loved the character interaction more than anything, and how it was shown so starkly how things had changed. I like to think Frank does change things somehow.
I've just tried to read the zombie story. After they killed Jamia off casually, then Bob, then had Frank shoot Mikey in the head I backed out.
It did. :)
What did you think of the wave 2s? Personally there's a load I want to read but I know some people aren't as happy.

Date: 2011-07-24 03:25 pm (UTC)First class worldbuilding, totally! I already feel like I want to reread it soon because I know there was details and connections I didn't notice the first time.
I didn't even look at the zombie story. Zombies are icky and zombie apocalyses are definitely not my thing at all.
I'm positively suprised by wave two actually. It seemed more varied than wave two somehow. The Gerard pairings were definitely more varied. There are much fewer Panic stories though and that might be why some people aren't very happy.

Date: 2011-07-24 03:42 pm (UTC)I would have explained it away by pairing but even allowing for the people who won't read due to the waycest, the story has a lot of all the other pairings.
I'd read so many side stories set in the universe, about Lindsey and her crew and Gabe working in the factory. Just everything.
Which just reminded me of something I liked in Foxxx's story, the scene with Brian. That was so sad.
Zombie stories can be written really well. One of my favourite BBBs remains Cold Pennies from a few years back, but that was subtle. This was just bad.
There is a good spread of pairings, and a lot of intriguing summaries. I'm looking forward to it going live.

Date: 2011-07-24 05:48 pm (UTC)Well, if you like the "rocks fall, everyone dies" sort of ending they might be, but I prefer my endings with at least the possibility of future happiness.
