I mean, what? Werewolves. Also, why cut the interview off there HCT people? I want to know why Frank thinks it's like being a werewolf. I mean, surely vampires would fit better with the awake at night thing, but, I guess werewolves would be the pack mentality. Are you telling us you sleep in a huge puppy pile, Frank? Do you go around scent marking things?

But what I love most is how Mikey gets instantly engaged in the conversation. He's like, la, la, la, usual Mikey face, WEREWOLVES! \o/ something that needs a face to face look at Frank to discuss, and no doubt something they've discussed many times before. Then they cut us off. Bastards.

So come talk to me about werewolves. Is Ray the alpha, does he get to carry Frank around by the scruff of the neck? Do the Way bros do lots of grooming of each other? Was Pedicone aware he was joining a group of werewolves? So many questions.

Also, I'm really enjoying Ask Kobra Kid on tumblr. Some of his replies have made me laugh a lot.

I'm horribly behind in my own writing, but I still intend to catch up, probably when James goes back to work because he's off at the moment. Which brings me to twitter suggesting that I follow Corey's twitter. That is not going to happen, no way, no how. I don't care how often twitter suggests it, and maybe we do like the same music and bands, I'm still not following him, because he might follow me back, and no way do I want my kid reading me speculate about the practicalities of facials in the desert.

I think that's all. Depending on the outcome of something this morning, we've planned to go to the cinema and watch a few films this afternoon, but I just remembered it's Orange Wednesday again. Hopefully it won't be so busy. We'll see.

I'm going for Gerard as the unlikely alpha with Ray as his second, going all protective over Mikey and Frank, staring suspiciously at newcomers. And Frank says he totally doesn't need protection! He is a badass wolf, okay!

I think the Ways would groom each other often, and by the time they're finished they've got some of their fur so wet with saliva that it's stuck down in clumps and other parts are sticking up wildly, but they don't care. Just curl in together and sleep.

Oh, if Pedicone is also an alpha he could growl too. Him and Ray could circle each other, lips curled, because even though they've known Pedicone for a long time now he's part of their inner circle.

Really, it's an excuse for more Ray growling.

Clearly I have no imagination - when I watched it I figured he said werewolves because of the waking up with no idea where you are part. I prefer your suggestions! Also, Ray as alpha makes me think of my favourite My Chem clip, from the Helena shoot, where Frank keeps trying to climb into the coffin and Ray keeps hauling him back out again. A good thought to start the day with :)

Oh man, I am the stupidest, of course he meant like that. I was watching and delighting in the werewolf talk, but really wasn't sure how they got there. Now it's clear.

I might be the only person in fandom who thinks Gerard would be the alpha. They do follow him around. Whatever crazy idea he has they are on board with it - or so it seems to the outside world, so I am going with that. I get why people think Gerard isn't a dominant guy (he totally looks faily and nerdy sometimes), but he can make people do stuff. He is a leader, I have no doubt about that.
I think Frank would do the grooming. Try his best to make them presentable and Ray, well Ray would try to make them stay in the freaking woods and have always a change a clothes hidden away. (it was hard to see his bandmates naked every freaking month - and then Mikey mastered the change whenever he wanted too - but it got better. still, Ray is not the type to walk around naked often).
They totally sleep in a pile. Totally - and they never made fun of Panic for that.
As for Pedicone; he would yield to Gerard because Gerard is charming and even if Pedicone would be an alpha, Gerard has a pack to back him up. The only thing for Pedicone is to yield and deal.

You know, I could easily be swayed toward Gerard being the alpha, for exactly the reasons you say. He may not have the bulk or physical presence but it's not always about that. It's having that special thing that makes people watch him and follow his lead, and he certainly has that.

I think, if looking at My Chem as a pack, I'd always see Gerard as alpha - failiest, flailiest alpha ever, but incredibly badass when needed - and Ray would be his incredibly loyal, incredibly good-at-his-job second-in-command/enforcer (so yes, lots of carrying Frank around by the scruff of his neck \o/)/beta. (That...may not have made much sense. For some reason, I haven't had tea yet. >.<)

so, my mind goes to: one of them is a werewolf (you pick which), and the rest of the band spends their time freaking about about when said member goes through 'the full moon cycle' and trying to protect him from anyone finding out. not to mention the amount of angst that's bound to crop up around keeping him chained to the only immovable thing in the bus--the bunks--so that he doesn't get out and hurt someone in his...hunting frenzy, or whatever.

really, it's awful. there are the rabid days leading up to the full moon (lots of heavy breathing and snarling and twitching and lashing out), and then there's the actual night of the full moon which is just...horrible. and then the next day he wakes up back to normal--or as back to normal as one can be. chafe marks on his wrists and ankles, mouth raw and tasting like cotton, pupils blown wide. and of course, just totally wrecked. and exhausted.

and then maybe he bites one of the other guys and ohhh, there are a world of possibilities.

I mean, it made perfect sense right off the bat to me, too. Like, having been up all night riding that weird high and post-show euphoria and trying to come down is a sort of moon-madness, and then being disoriented because the sun is up and has been for a while, and you're somewhere you have no idea where, or what's been happening while others have been going about their business all day, setting up things and getting them ready, and you're with the same people day in, day out, and even if you're not actually sharing bunks, you're in together in fairly tight spaces, sleeping in what's essentially a narrow room, and only they can understand what you've been doing. And while touring is an extended period, not just one moon, there's the fact that it does happen in bursts with off-times to adjust back to normal life, then boom! Tour-time is coming up, things go right back into that cycle.

Of course, initially, I totally got lost in thinking about them waking up scruffy and grunting and scratching at themselves, all sleepy and disoriented, but sort of curling up together in the lounge with coffee as they get ready to do it all over again. "How many moons do we have left? Where are we today?"
