Date: 2010-01-19 11:17 pm (UTC)It's a stare that makes Brian feel uncomfortable, like the governess is staring into his soul and finding him lacking. It doesn't help that the other Mr Way -- the only Mr Way -- the one that's not the governess, is unable to stand still. In fact he appears quite deranged, his free hand pushed into his hair as he looks at the mansion.
"For shame, this is a place made for haunting." He whirls around then, gravel crunching under his feet. "Maybe the dead remain hidden to you? Or your eyes are blinded to those walking two worlds."
Brian tries to release his hand but he's held fast, and this situation is galloping out of his control. Aware of Frank's barely concealed giggles and the governess' pointed look Brian pulls himself to his full height and inclines his head at Raymond who's been discreetly waiting at the open doors to the mansion.
"Raymond, ensure governess Way's bag is taken to her... the prepared room."
"Very good, sir." Raymond dips his head and then adds. "Should I inform Robert we require another hare for dinner?"
Brian looks at Frank, who grins wider when Governess Way lifts up her skirts and starts to walk to the mansion -- in the process showing off boots that are surely not becoming for a young lady -- and at Mr Way, who's seemingly transfixed by the dark windows of the attic. Brian sighs, says, "Please."
