turpsIt's been an excellent fannish day and it's not even 11 yet. In fact, as I start writing this it's 10:46, lets see what time I actually finish, if I stick to my usual routines it'll be two days from now.
Anyway. James is on day shift this week so it meant the usual 5am start. My routine for those is wake up, wander like a mole person as I make coffee for me and tea for James. Make his packed lunch and help him dress, see him off to work and then go see what's going on online, usually via twitter first. And today good things were going on.
You'll have all see the Mikey, Ray, Frank interview, yeah? It's delightful. First, Mikey is wearing his ugly, awesome hat. Which of course was knitted by Pete #tinhat. But at the same time I was flailing about that I was also dealing with how adorable the interview is. They're adorkable, every single one of them and fandom was awesome, producing gifs that gave me heart eyes like
Keep your hand on Mikey's like that always Ray, it would make me very happy.
You know what else made me happy? Mikey and Ray's wrestling date.
Also of note, Mikey's very careful placement of strands of hair either side of the ugly, awesome knitted hat. I bet those babies are so stiff with product they could take someone's eye out.
And that's my morning squee condensed into post form. I'm going to attempt to catch up on some snowflakes later, including maybe throwing out a killjoys wip that has very little hope of being finished. I also need to try and read some tabs, 7 rows of the things is a bit ridiculous.
Oh, and posting it's 11:05. Not bad considering all the coding I've just done. Now watch it not post.

Date: 2012-01-17 05:07 pm (UTC)My absolutely favorite part of that interview is Mikey talking about his mythological pets and using the phrase Tolkien mythos. I'm almost tempted to try and figure out how to make that phrase a ringtone.
Pete took up knitting as a stress reliever (really it's Mixon's fault for suggesting it and talking him into it) although if anyone asks he always says it's to keep his dexterity up. Never being one to take the easy route he opted to make hats instead of scarves. Since Mikey loved hats it seemed like a logical fit to knit hats for Mikey.
Pete mails Mikey the first one because he's not sure he wants to see if his attempt makes Mikey laugh. He knows Mikey is too kind to him to laugh out right but Pete knows Mikey's tells when he's trying to hold back a laugh so he wraps it carefully and mails it. Perhaps he went a little overboard on the gaffer tape because Alicia called, sounding suspicious, and asks what he sent that needed to be wrapped so tightly. Telling her he'd sent Mikey a hat wasn't hard because he didn't have to say he made it too. If Alicia thinks he's being random and sending Mikey joke hats that's fine. He doesn't want to hear what she'll say if she knows he knit Mikey a hat.
Two hours after she phones, Alicia sends Pete a pictures of Mikey walking Piglet and wearing the hat. He's wearing sunglasses and Pete knows by the way his head is tilted that he's squinting. Pete picks up his needles and checkes his pattern. Mikey needs a hat with a brim.

Date: 2012-01-17 05:12 pm (UTC)I am so overjoyed right now. Yes. This is what happened, and of course Pete would immediately start knitting a new hat, because he needs something just perfect for Mikey. And he didn't want to see if Mikey laughed at him. Oh Pete, I love you.

Also, getting the squee under control. That would be an amazing ringtone.
