turpsI finished filling in place-holders on my BBB and sent it off to beta a few days ago. Now I guess I have to start thinking about wave 3.
It's Corey's last official day at school today, he'll goes back to take his GCSEs but actual lessons are now finished. He went off this morning in his skinny black jeans and his silver studded belt and his black leavers hoodie with the names of his class on the back and I got hit with such a wave of nostalgia. The little boy who held my hand on his first day of school, red jumper, polo shirt, grey trousers is well gone. Even the boy who started secondary school in his perfect uniform, every item correct, is well gone.
We've been sorting out the spare room ready for James to start his home working. The guy came today to fit the desk and it's too big for the room. So back the desk went.
James goes to France tomorrow. He's going for a week along with 20 leaders and 90 scouts, and getting really excited about going. So it's just be me, Corey and the cats from tomorrow afternoon.
Nanna's sister died yesterday. Nanna and her brother got to see Aunty Margaret for the last time the night before and she said it's more of a blessing that she passed. We'll be going to see nanna later this afternoon because she'll be taking it hard.
There's a love meme for bandom going on here. There are a lot of fabulous people listed there so go give them some love. That's what I intend to do this afternoon.
ETA: As per tradition Corey came home with his grey school jumper signed by all his friends. Another tradition is the leaving year meets up at a local park and hangs out in the evening, so that's where he at now. I've just been reading all the messages left in his yearbook. I seem to have something in both of my eyes.

It really is sad. We did go up and she was sitting wearing her black cardigan saying how it just hit her today.

I was so glad to get that last scene finished. I suspect I may get told to add more as the pacing is a little off toward the end, but that's editing I don't mind.

It's a contrast that was made even more obvious as sorting the spare room involved me looking through the boxes of stuff he's made through the years. Old brittle pictures and crumbling clay things. The memories were strong these last few years.
Nanna is going to miss her so much. She knew it was a kindness Aunty Margaret went, but knowing doesn't really help emotions.
