Happy New Year

turpsI had a very low key new year, and at midnight was in my bedroom watching all the fireworks go off for miles in the distance. Corey was there too and I was talking to mam on the phone, had just talked to James before he went back to work, so as new years go, it was a nice one.
I can't say I'm not glad to see the back of 2013, while it wasn't as bad as the suckfest of 2011 it came close at times. With 2013 getting a final kick in when dad was rushed into hospital a few days ago due to his legs seizing up. He's home now though and still insisted on going to his dinner reservation on the day he got out, despite falling asleep all the way through it.
But, 2014 is fresh and new. Mam gets her first cataract done next week so will be able to see a thousand times better then. So I'm hopeful things will be looking up.
And I hope 2014 will be awesome for you all too. I don't post as often as I used to, but I do read and follow all of your lives still, whether our fandoms have split off or not.
Breakfast now, then taking down the Christmas stuff. I have people I need to thank for cards and maybe I'll even talk about my bandom holidays story later. For now though, have an action shot of some of the cats having their Christmas treats, complete with thumb in the corner. You're welcome!
