We've had a bit of an eventful day today when, on the way to James' hospital appointment, we ended up the first car in a three car shunt. We came off a roundabout and just beyond it is a zebra crossing. Stopped to let a man cross over, the car behind us stopped too, but the one behind him was going too fast, hit the car behind ours, which was shoved forward at speed into our car.

That second car got the worst of the damage with a crumpled bumper and bonnet, plus there was a baby in the backseat, so an ambulance was called and the police were there very quickly. Which is good as the man who caused the accident started to square up to the middle car driver and threatened to punch him.

Our car has very little damage, just surface scratches on the bumper from what I can see, but motability want it in to have it checked over properly. Which means another hire car and yet more pulling out money for the deposit. Which we'll get back I know, but wasn't part of the financial plans this week.

James has been to the doctors and it seems he has whiplash, but I feel okay, even though people keep saying I could feel it tomorrow. Which, if so, I'm blaming them all for their negative thoughts. Or you know, the idiot who thought it was okay to go around a roundabout at speed.

I just hope that baby is okay, and her mam, who was getting treatment too.

I hope neither of you end up with tons of aches & pains - sometimes it does take a few hours for muscles to react, so take it easy! I'm awfully glad you guys weren't injured, and I hope that baby is ok.

Whew! Glad you're both mostly ok -- I hope no more aches develop -- and I hope everyone else is too. People can be such idiots when driving, which is fine except when they're doing it on the same road as everyone else. :(

I'm so glad it wasn't worse! (Sometimes I think men shouldn't be allowed to drive!! Women are much safer drivers.) I hope you'll still feel okay tomorrow and that James' whiplash won't be too bad.

*hugs* And I also hope you are not going to feel the after-effects. Will not your insurance pay for a hire vehicle? Or, better, the perpetrator's insurance?

Thankfully I still feel fine today, but James is really aching. I'm not sure why the difference, maybe my pudge is actually good for impact protection *g*

I agree. Some people drive like idiots and don't seem to realise they need to share the road in a safe and careful manner. It's just foot down and go in so many cases.

At first our insurance company said they'd pay for the fuel deposit needed to get a hire car, but then the next person we spoke to said that wasn't the case. It's not actually that much and we'll get it back quickly once we hand the hire car back, I'd just prefer not to shell any money out at all.

Hopefully the first adviser turns out to be right.

I'm fine but James is still suffering with his neck a little, and our car is going off to be fixed this afternoon. So, still have all that to sort out.
