Feb. 11th, 2015 12:48 pmAfter waiting all day yesterday my FiL has just been to deliver Corey's cards. He stayed for all of a few minutes and then took off again. Still, at least they're here now.
Today is the start of the first birthday cluster of the year. Corey's 19 today and present wise has got money off everyone and is going out with his friends at the weekend. So different to the years of noisy toys and even nosier parties.
Next up is nanna birthday on Friday, talking of which, some photos I posted on instagram behind the
This one I posted this morning. I actually remember posting that photo of Corey in his Easter bonnet on LJ at the time it was taken. I like that along with the fannish stuff, my journal will always hold memories of him growing up.

I took this photo of nanna and granddad's wedding photo last time I was up there. Eighty odd years, a war, two sons, three grandchildren, one great-grandson and the loss of her beloved husband later and nanna's still going strong.

She's just as beautiful now I think.

I posted my no_tags prompts last night and also finished Captive Prince book 2. I'm sure if you've read the series you'll understand my reaction at the end as NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Now what to read next? I was bought all the Rivers of London books for Christmas so could re-read the first few of those before reading the new ones. But I've also been sent Jason, the latest Anita Blake mini book. Well written, well characterised and engaging books against something badly written with no doubt terrible scarring sex scenes with a character I actually like. I suspect you'll all know which direction I go.

Date: 2015-02-11 03:26 pm (UTC)I told nanna we'd go up to see her on her birthday and she said she might be out. The woman has a better social life than I do *g*
Yeah. It was inevitable really. I hope my kindle doesn't end up thrown against a wall, that wouldn't be good.

Date: 2015-02-11 06:44 pm (UTC)Your nanna is very goodlooking, both back then and now. Such pretty heartshaped face and her hair is lovely. An early happy birthday to her too!
Well, it depends upon if their real books or ebooks. I mean, you can't throw ebooks around without breaking something valuable :-)

Date: 2015-02-11 07:13 pm (UTC)I enjoy February but man, it's an expensive month.
YAY! That makes me very happy! We'll both have to get ready to wade in with sharp elbows for the prompt claiming.
I'm so obvious /o\

Date: 2015-02-11 07:16 pm (UTC)I do enjoy looking at old photos. People tend to look so elegant in them. I've always liked nanna's skin, it's in lovely condition considering her age.
Well, the Anita Blake is on my Kindle, the Rivers of London are actual books. When I read Jason I'll have to be sure not to chuck my Kindle in frustration. Maybe just set in down in a gentle yet pointed manner.

Date: 2015-02-11 07:32 pm (UTC)Which just means we've known each other a long time (10 years next week, in fact). But surely neither of us has aged in that time????

Date: 2015-02-11 07:34 pm (UTC)I should be. It's James' first day off tomorrow and I was expecting to have to push back a ride out to get groceries, but it turns out he's got another disaster exercise thing, so I have the time to sit and refresh like crazy.
I'll keep an eye out for you. Then we can celebrate or mourn after.

Date: 2015-02-11 07:39 pm (UTC)10 years. Wow. But nope, we haven't aged in the slightest. We're both spring chickens still.
