Feb. 15th, 2015 02:49 pmIt was an excellent day yesterday.
First,
sperrywink sent me baby Groot for my birthday, see, which means she continues to knock the present giving out of the park. ♥
Then for valentine's James bought me stuff from Lush which is always an excellent gift for me.
And I also got a very lovely Valentine's card from
spasticat ♥
On the night we went to see Jupiter Ascending at the cinema and it was all kinds of ridiculous and amazing. It has plot holes you could drive a truck through, things that make little sense at all -- the bee house, I mean, what? -- and so much ridiculousness that often all I could do was laugh. How could you not when the main character is a half albino werewolf, military space hunter who'd lost his wings. That's just fic fodder right there. And yet, the movie is utter cracktastic fun.
The cinema itself was rammed with people going to see Fifty Shades of Grey. So much so that the gallery part where you can help yourself to popcorn, pop etc was completely full and people had to spill into the bar. But, I really enjoyed the night, especially as we went out to eat before hand.
Today hasn't been as good. James has been having really bad indigestion, he has prescribed tablets for it but they haven't been touching it the last few nights. He went to work today and they sent him straight to a walk in centre as they were worried about heart issues, and from there he was sent straight to the hospital.
Thankfully he's just talked to a consultant who said it's 80% sure he hasn't had a heart attack and it's just his acid reflux getting worse, but he still has to stay there until his second blood test is clear, which will be sometime tonight. Of course this whole situation is complicated by James being in a hospital near where he works and not where we live and his car being left at the walk in centre as he was taken to hospital by ambulance.
Thankfully my brother can drive James' car so he's got a friend to drive him to our car and he'll drive it home. So that should be back here soon and then hopefully James will be back by tonight and all will be fine. I have to admit though, this morning was rough when I was waiting for news. But, it did mean I got all of the house tidying done, a chicken casserole put in the slow cooker and a nice chunk of no tags written, because distraction techniques for the win.
