turpsI've been at the hospital with mam for most of today.
This morning Kayleigh phoned around half eight to say she'd came home from her night shift and mam was sitting on the foot step of her stair lift and making no sense. Quickly getting dressed I went up there and found out mam was in a bad way. Nothing she was saying was making sense, for example, saying my brother needed to be up for school when he left many many years ago. Was sweating, weak, and it was obviously an ambulance job.
We called one, Kayleigh travelled with mam, I went with James, and then spent the next 7 hours or so at the hospital. At one point they started to talk about admitting her to ICU as her blood pressure was so low and temperature so high, but thankfully both improved a little, and eventually she was taken to a ward. And I have to say here, that's one of the things I hate most in hospitals, following the porters when they're pushing trolleys or wheelchairs, they move like the wind and I'm puffing away behind them.
She's a bit better now, still poorly but at least she makes sense, because it was scary seeing her talk such nonsense. Kayleigh had to go home during the day as she needed sleep after her night shift, but she's taking visiting tonight, so I'll hear more in an hour or so.
And because life likes to add in an extra kick. James got an upset stomach while waiting at the hospital, which meant I had to keep nipping off with him to help in the toilet. But, we're home now, I've had something to eat and will go shower soon as I'm sure they keep that hospital at the temperature of a thousand fiery suns.
More medical stuff. I've got my next wls appointments. I see the surgeon the beginning of next month, the endoscopy people at the end of it. I've been waiting ages to get the next set of appointments, but really I should have known how to get them faster. Just make plans to do something else on the days or soon after something medial. The appointments are bound to arrive then.
Finally, something else wls related that made me think, the fuck? James was telling me how he'd been talking about what I was going to get done, and one of his work mates asked him if he wasn't scared I would leave him when I lost weight. I mean, what the hell? I hope she just had a foot in mouth not thinking moment, but even so, talk about offensive to us both.

I'm completely speechless. How could anyone even think of saying something like that???!!! It's not thoughtless, it's actively malicious in my opinion.

I've been waiting for these appointments for months now, and of course they've arrived when I have something else on. It always happens.

You know something. I try to always think well of people but the more I think of it the more I agree. It's something that should never have been said.
