Snowflake Challenge day 3 and 4
Jan. 5th, 2018 09:06 amWe went to the fracture clinic yesterday, and all was well. James has to keep his finger strapped up for a month but otherwise leave it alone. It was actually a very fast visit. We got there early, got let in early, and in fact we spent more time listening to the doctor -- who was in the room opposite, complain about how trauma patients notes were automatically sent with each patient, than listen to him talk to James. Which I don't get, because surely they'd be needed?
Personally I still feel a bit meh. Not full out sick but running at 60% at the moment. So all we did yesterday was go to the hospital then to the cinema to see Pitch Perfect 3, which was okay, nothing special.
Snowflake catch up.
Day 4
In your own space, create a fannish wishlist. No limits on size or type of fanwork; just tell us what you’d like to see. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so. And if you grant a wish, do the same thing!
I know loads have said this, but consider leaving a transformative works statement on your profiles. I've got one and two days ago got a notification that someone had podficced one of my Musketeer stories. Which was such a boost as I didn't think those stories had even been noticed much, never mind someone wanting to podfic one of them.
If you enjoy a work, leave a comment or kudos to say so. I love getting comments on my stuff, and it's a great feeling knowing what you've worked on has been enjoyed.
Related to that. After just finishing two challenges and being part of Snowflake, remember to thank the mods. While I haven't ran a challenge for a long time I know modding takes a lot of time and effort.
Day 3
In your own space, post recs for at least three fanworks that you did not create. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it.
I've finished reading the popslash MTYG stories, and therefore have recs from there.
No Man's Fort. Kevin/Joey. A lovely story where Joey and Kevin are head chefs, Brian and Chris, too, just not the head kind. This was fun, set in an excellent place, and the descriptions of food made me hungry.
Con-Stir-Nation. Chris/Joey. Chris/Kevin. threesome, threesome surely! Chris goes to a con. This was funny and I really liked seeing the con through Chris' eyes.
The Holiday Homage Chris/JC. A popslash reworking of The Holiday. It was such a good take on the movie, and I really liked all the descriptions of the houses and JC introducing Chris to his lifestyle.
Purrfect for the Season. My story, mine! A trickc catcafe. That is all *_____* Also, nicely written and really fun to read.
Mirror Mirror. Chris/Lance. Time travel and Lance meeting his future self and putting things to rights. This is such a clever story, and I enjoyed reading it a lot.
Jamie. Chris/Lance. Plus, a rescue dog, a really interesting setting and such a lovely end line.
Pulp Friction. Chris/Lance. Lance writes, badly at times, and Chris reacts. The actual writing of the story inside the fic is a lot of fun, if very cringe-worthy at times. I still think of Chris reading his email and laugh.
I hung My This Or That, I Laid My Welcome Mat JC/Howie. This is just amazing fun. I loved JC and his voice, and I laughed so often while reading.
It's All About Compatibility. JC/Brian. They're fairies, but the story is so much more than that. It made me enjoy Brian, which I didn't expect.
Those are just my personal favourites, so I recommend you check out the whole challange.

Date: 2018-01-05 09:25 am (UTC)I did! It was such a surprise, and when I got the notification it took me ages to remember what story it was, because I never expected it to be The Musketeers.
I read the last story last night, and it was the chef one. All the food talk made me want to raid the fridge *g*
You're up early today. I've been following you around commenting this morning. Are you still holed up due to the cold?

Date: 2018-01-05 09:32 am (UTC)I am still holed up due to the cold and wind. The wind is literally howling. I feel like I am in some "snowed into a cabin" trope. (But where's my hot guy to cuddle with?!?!?!) *g*
I am up early. I will probably take a nap before work, though.

You're actually one of the best people I know for leaving comments. I always find them such a boost, which is why I leave them myself.
