Call me Well, my name is Terri, but you can call me Turps, Ter, T. I'll answer to most things.
Other things I've been known as (that I'm willing to share) Nothing I'm afraid. My brother actually calls me Turps in RL, and his kids call me auntie Turps. My parents did call me wallabag when I was a bairn. Does that count?
A bit about my nonfannish life Well, I suppose the biggest thing is I had a gastric bypass at the back end of 2016. After a few months of staying off the scales as I'd had a lengthy stall and was sulking a little, I went back on two days ago, and am a few pounds away from having lost 20 stones. Not all after the op, but the vast majority. I'm relearning my body atm, and it's weird at times. I still see myself as so much bigger than I actually am now, and I doubt that will change.
I'm a carer for my husband who has arthrogriphosismultiplexcongentia, or AMC. Basically it means all of his joints, tendons etc are fucked. He's got a full time job as a 999 call taker, but I do all personal care etc. We met the day after my 18th birthday, but didn't actually get married until 2016. What can I say, it was a big year that year. We've got one son, Corey, who's 21 and in his third year of university.
I like in the NE of England, about half way between Sunderland and Durham. I like it here, and end up at the coast often.
A bit about my fannish life .... I'm a strong OTC person and it's that person who shapes my fannish life. Tom Paris, Blair Sandburg, Chris Kirkpatrick, Brennan Mulway, Mikey Way, Aramis being the main ones so far. I only tend to be active in one fandom at a time, but will read in many and will often go read fic from old fandoms.
I write and like to comment. In the past I used to run a lot of challenges and comms, but now I'm content with occasional fic writing and chatting on here and LJ.
Things I'm super-enthusiastic about ... Erm, I like cats. I've got four of them. Long baths. Lush. Seriously, my Lush addiction is a terrible thing. I love watching TV on my recliner wrapped in a blanket. I love going to the cinema and as we have an unlimited card go often. I love the ocean and drinking coffee watching the sea. I'm quite boring really.

I don't know about brave, but I've had so much support from people on LJ and DW over the years. It seemed second nature to keep talking about wls and weight loss too. I can honestly say my DW and LJ friends helped keep me going.

I know! I try to keep my love of the place secret but it keeps slipping out.
