Apr. 23rd, 2019 06:27 pmWe've been to the cinema today. Saw Beautiful Boy and while I thought it was okay James fell asleep through the end part and said it was like Manchester on the Sea, which to him isn't a compliment at all. But why I'm posting is I was chatting to one of the staff before the movie and he was telling me the staff had been shown Endgame after midnight last night. While I'm sure they've all been sworn to secrecy the urge to grill him for spoilers was huge, but then I told myself, nope, don't even ask, you've tickets for Thursday anyway. But then again that little voice, ask him! Ask him! I was glad someone else came along and he had to go serve elsewhere.
Game of Thrones
I'm just putting this out there. Sam needs to take the iron throne, I'm just saying.
Okay, I know that won't happen, but he'd be such a lovely king.
I've seen a few people saying the pace of these last two episodes have been slow, and they have been slow-paced but I know it's the calm before the storm and things are going to go crazy from next week. Sadly I suspect the first of the major deaths will happen. I think Grey Worm's days are numbered, either him or Missandei, you just don't get to make happy plans in GoTs world. I also think Theon is in huge danger which is going to break my heart. Also, Brienne. She's had her happy Ser Brienne moment and man, that was beautiful, as is the triangle between Jaime, Brienne and Tourmound. Now I can see her going out in a blaze of fire.
Also, a massacre is going to happen in those crypts, the foreshadowing for that is blatant.
Theon and Sansa, I want them to rule the kingdoms together, again, something else that won't happen, but I want it to.
Bran is still creepy.
Ghost!
Loved the talk next to the fire. But could have done without the giant's milk story, though it seemed very in character. And Pod singing and just, all those scenes next to the fire, as happy as those characters ever get and all the time they, and us, know death, destruction and pain is coming.
Why do I even watch this show again?
Is it next week yet?
James got another Too Good to Go Yo Sushi order yesterday. We picked it up from Newcastle, and as mean as it is, I still have to smile to myself when I remember his face when he was given a full tray of vegetarian sushi offerings. They do always say it's a lucky dip with what you get, but he's become used to getting salmon etc. Oh well, I enjoyed it.
Best thing about yesterday though. Coming home I noticed our neighbour had a puppy in her garden. I looked closer and there were actually eight puppies. She invited us in to see them and we had twenty minutes of playing with bumbling, tumbling puppies with curly hair and puppy breath and nibbly little teeth *----*

Date: 2019-04-24 12:40 am (UTC)-I'm honestly more worried about Gilly and the baby than I am about Sam, because -- THE CRYPTS. Yup, that was some blatant foreshadowing. It's going to happen and I'm going to scream. Possibly forever.
-I guess people are shipping Theon and Sansa now? And I'm not gonna go overboard dumping on it, 'cos he's so, so dying next week and what would be the point? But...I still don't like it.
-BRIENNE.
Non-GOT stuff:
-Puppy teeth!

Date: 2019-04-24 04:08 am (UTC)I don’t watch the show but from what I do know I think you’re right (happiness = death) *hugs and hopes you’re wrong anyway*

Date: 2019-04-24 04:31 pm (UTC)Sadly you're the only person talking GoT with me, but I'd assume people are shipping Sansa and Theon, I mean, everything gets shipped somewhere. I bet there are dragon pairings out there, not that I've looked for them.
For me, they were both so fucked over by Ramsey that I'd love for them to retain their found self-respect and rule all. Not that Theon actually would, he'd be forever hiding behind Sansa. Or else, they can just be happy living at Winterfell and eat lemon cakes and wear matching leather and fur outfits. It would be glorious, but yeah. Not going to happen. He's toast.
Brienne makes my heart sing. She's amazing.
Little sharp puppy teeth!

Date: 2019-04-24 04:37 pm (UTC)My show isn't until midday tomorrow, so I'll be keeping offline until then.
Happiness always means death in GoT land. Sadly I suspect that many of the characters I love are done for.
Veggie sushi is fabulous. I'd be happy to get more.
The puppies were fantastic, getting to cuddle and play with them really was a highlight of my day.
Enjoy the movie!

Date: 2019-04-25 12:15 pm (UTC)(And I thought their quiet, soup-eating moment was super touching, too. They didn't need to talk, not because there was nothing to say, but because they understand each other so perfectly!) (Oh, God, am I talking myself into this?)
I...wish Theon a quick and dignified death? I mean. That sounds harsh, but it's probably the kindest thing anyone can wish anyone in GOT-world. :(

Date: 2019-05-07 05:55 pm (UTC)All that sounds delicious. I really thought I wouldn't like sushi as I'm not a fan of fish. But it turns out there are so many more kinds than I knew.
The puppies were amazing!
