Mar. 3rd, 2020 12:15 pmJames' immediate team boss phoned a few days ago confirming his uniform for work is going to change. Which is fair enough, except they're going from black polo shirts back to white dress shirts and green trousers, and that means I'll need to iron the stupid things. Now I just hang the polo shirts up after they've been washed and they're crease-free, but there's no chance of doing that with dress shirts, plus, white is not a good colour. In the time he's been there this will be the third uniform change, I wish they'd pick one and stick with it.
My SiL had a court appearance yesterday so we took my youngest nephew to speech therapy and then took him and my MiL for a drive to the beach. I got to walk on the sand with my nephew and dig with a stick and just enjoy the sea air, even if it was a bit cold.
Today I'm picking up another Olio order as the woman from last week messaged me to say she had more stuff available. So, this afternoon I'll be coming home with free eggs, pizza and more sandwiches. The Costa at Durham is asking for someone to be a food waste hero and I'd love to do it, but you need to sign up for a weekly slot at a specific time, which is no good once James is back at work as he'll be working shifts. But, you know if the Costa in town ever does it I'll be volunteering.
Seeing all the talk about tags for the h/c exchange challenge reminded me I still have the Musketeers sex slaves in space fic that I finished last year and didn't use. It's complete but has the potential to be much better if I add more as I hurried to finish before deciding to write something else. I really need to open it and extend it already... And I just have opened it, it's at 12k and I haven't looked at it since April last year. Bad me. I need to make that my goal for the month, work on that and finish the damn winterhawk story already.

Date: 2020-03-03 06:11 pm (UTC)I hated the shirts he had to wear before the current uniform change. They had stupid pointy collars and flaps to hold onto the epaulettes and gathered sleeves, I was so glad when they went to polo shirts.
So why the change back I don't know.

Date: 2020-03-08 01:39 pm (UTC)I totally agree. Yeah they look good freshly ironed and when you first put them on. But a long commute, a few hours at work and they tend to be crumpled and show any marks.
It was a good combo of free food.

That is very true. Now I just need to add some words already.

Date: 2020-03-08 01:42 pm (UTC)There was a mess-up last week with my SiLs court appearance but tomorrow should be the last apperance and hopefully the kids dad can go home at last. That'll take a load of pressure off.
Still haven't written, sorry! *g*

Date: 2020-03-08 01:43 pm (UTC)Doesn't it just? I can't believe I'm going to have to dig out the iron. I haven't touched the thing in forever.
Sadly the words are still locked in my head, but I live in hope.

Date: 2020-03-10 12:30 pm (UTC)The Olio app is fantastic, and it must be great if you live in a place where lots of people take part. As it is, I'm enjoying having one person and hoping eventually for more choice.
Thank you. I think once James is back at work I'll work on them more, or you know, procrastinate even more.
