I went looking for the latest Party of Five and couldn't find it. Some investigation and it turns out it was only a ten-episode season, and episode ten was last week. Sadness. However, I do have new Picard to watch asap.

We also went to see Bloodshot last week and I actually enjoyed it more than I was expecting. And yeah, I know I say that often but it's still true. The plot was ridiculous at times, but hey, it was entertaining and had some good visuals so I was happy.

We also had a walk around Metrocentre beforehand. It's been a while since we've been there so we had a mooch and got our steps in away from the rain and cold.

Yesterday we went to my aunts and had a fantastic time. We looked through old photos and all my cousins were there and we had such a laugh looking at all the outfits we'd been dressed in. I posted one of me on Insta here but look at these beauties

It was also funny to see clothes being passed down through the cousins, and the fact that apparently my mam and my aunt thought it was a good idea to dress me and my youngest cousin identically at times, and in such fetching shades of brown. Also, it seemed my brother had to fit in with the colour scheme, too. I guess it was just a brown time in general.

And, a bonus pic of me and mam.

Today James has his first day back at work. Though his team leader phoned the other day with his phased days and he's actually only in for four hours, then off for five days before doing Sat and Sun, five hours on each then working up from there. It's just typical that he's been off for months and is going back at such an uncertain time, to a job that's around loads of people and can't be done at home, and will be busy as he'll be on the 111 calls at first before working back to the niners.

I also had a nice chat with Corey and he's doing well and we've started to make vague plans to meet next Sunday. Hopefully, we can make that happen.

NGL, I deffo prefer the shorter episode counts for TV shows. Mainly because it cuts down on the amount of filler episodes/super slowed down pacing for some story arcs. YMMV, obvs.

My ideal episode count hovers between 10 and 13. THAT SAID, I can see how Ep. 10 of PoF being the season finale can be kind of a wonky surprise. At least there is other content out there? :P

Hahah, old pics are always SUCH a trip! ^___^

Good luck to James in his return to work. <3

I think my annoyance with longer seasons come from watching telenovelas where, if a show got v. popular, the network would add abt 15 more episodes just as plots were wrapping up. Some telenovelas are abt a year and a half long which is too much, imo.

All of them 24-episode series tend to have a momentum slow down unless they are police procedurals, ime.

Hahaha, the dress shirt is your sworn enemy. XD

Awww that’s a shame that it’s ended soon. There’s only 10 eps of Picard so that’s ending soon too,

Awww so cute!

I hope it all goes ok for him

Good luck with that!

I recall having a plaid pinafore very like that too. Those were the days! You all look delightful. And the one of you and your mom is lovely.

I hope James's shift went ok, and that the return in general is as low-stress as it can be.

Totally awesome photos! I'm particularly delighted to see that you're still partial to tartan because I completely agree with Aziraphale - tartan is stylish :-)

I'm keeping everything crossed for James!

Saying that, a medical show here just celebrated it's 30th year. It's not the same as it does take breaks every year but even so. I think thirty years and just think, whoa. That is a lot of content.

USian soap operas can go on and on. IIRC, both Guiding Light and General Hospital have been on the air either 57-58 seasons AND COUNTING. Like, my mom used to watch General Hospital when she was in senior year in high school and gave up sometime in the early 1980s because some of her fave characters had been written out. O_____o.
