May. 11th, 2020 05:21 pmWe seem to be getting mail about once a week lately, and today I got the most beautiful card and message from
pensnest. Thank you again, Pen ♥
Exciting times, the tip reopened today and I've booked a slot for next Tuesday to get rid of some rubbish. Mainly garden stuff as I need to clean out the area where the fence will be fixed, but also some house stuff that can go. The whole thing is very regimented, you have to book your half-hour slot and display your printed out appointment/permit on your windscreen along with proof you actually live in the area.
I've just been reading the Our Plans to Rebuild document and it makes a lot more sense than Boris' broadcast last night. It's good to have a little bit more clarity and I'm glad we've got masks to wear, even if they'll only really be needed for shopping. And you know I'll be heading to the beach for a walk once travel restrictions are relaxed on Wednesday. I've missed it, so close yet so far.
I've mixed feelings about pubs being able to maybe think about reopening in July, depending on being able to maintain social distancing, though how they'd do that I'm not sure. My first reaction was happiness as it means Corey will be able to go back to work and hopefully start looking for his new place. But knowing the place where he works and how crowded it gets I really don't know how they could make it work. I know in terms of risk he is low in terms of catching the virus and being seriously ill, but it's still a risk that's there. So yeah, happy and also worried.
Same about the cinemas maybe reopening in July, my initial reaction was YAY! then reality hit and I started to wonder how they'd make it work. Before lockdown Odeon wouldn't let people book seats next to each other, so I'd imagine they'd keep that up. But would it be enough?
All I do know is, I'm going to be very wary of crowds and crowded places for a very long time.
James has had to take days off he'd built up from being off sick, so is off from today until a week on Wednesday. Then back a week or so then is off for a fortnight. He always takes those two weeks as it's our wedding anniversary and when we try to go on our holidays abroad. I guess this year it'll be another staycation.
I finally watched the last episodes of The Good Place last night. I'm going to miss that show.
