May. 13th, 2020 04:12 pmThank you so much to
frausorge for the postcard that arrived today. It was a very lovely surprise and it's always great hearing from you ♥
I keep thinking about this and laughing.
A while back we ordered some face masks, and yesterday they arrived. Opened the package and was confronted with a ski mask, not a face mask, and not only that but a ski mask that has a hole for the nose making it entirely unsuitable for what we need it for. It's an amazing thing, with a scarf bit that goes down your neck and bits that go up over your ears, but so not what we need. I mean, check it out. As my brother suggested, all I need is a hat and swag bag and I could go out and rob some shops. Thankfully, some really lovely people have hooked me up with the mask I actually need, so all will be well in the end.
Yesterday we also did some clearing in the garden ready for the fence man to come tomorrow. That included shifting a load of rubbish from the dumping ground, cutting ivy and then burning a load of rubbish. I was well and truly smoked and dirty by the end, but it'll be worth it when the new fence and gate is in place. No more moving the heavy cat statue to get out or propping the fence up with the recycling bin, it's like a dream.
It was the first time I'd used our fire pit and apart from the smoke, I can see the appeal of sitting in the rocking chair next to a fire. Though smokeless fuel will be so much better than old sticks and foliage.

Date: 2020-05-13 04:36 pm (UTC)Aww no! Yeah that is so the wrong place for a hole! It reminds me of something I saw on twitter ‘these face masks have a hole so you can drink through a straw’ 🤦🏻♂️
That sounds tiring! I hope it’s worth it!
Ohh a fire pit?

Date: 2020-05-14 04:26 am (UTC)Wow, no, that mask will not serve the current purpose at all. Thank goodness you've got other sources!
And kudos to you for all the garden productivity. May the improvements bring you more enjoyment of the space for a long time to come!

Date: 2020-05-14 03:23 pm (UTC)And, thank you again!
I still laugh when I think about the mask. It's no use for my needs at all.
Thank you. Sadly the first fence man dropped us in it, but a second one will be here any moment I hope.

Well, the fire pit is a cheap one from B&M we got last year, but did the job nicely. Though I still need to tackle the ashes. I suspect that will be a dirty job.
