May. 21st, 2020 02:50 pmI have finished reading all my Musketeer dragon stories. I have woe. The writer is pretty prolific and is still posting more, which is great, but I'd become used to having loads right there at my fingertips, and in fact, ploughed through 20 stories over 10k each in the last week.
Milo has been back at the vets today.
A couple of days after his antibiotics finished he was pulling his head back again and seemed lethargic, so I made him an appointment. It actually wasn't that bad, for his age he's in good health but Sarah the vet thinks it may be actually dental issues causing the problems. She said he can stay on more antibiotics for up to a month but if he's lost weight again after that and nothing has changed in terms of his discomfort he'll probably need teeth extracting, which of course means more money. So, fingers crossed the antibiotics he's got will do the trick. I did write her a letter to leave with his carrier asking if they would give the first antibiotic if needed as he's so bad at tablets. They did and said he was really tablet avoidant, so at least it's not just us he acts up for.
Otherwise, it was a beautiful day yesterday, in the high 20s, so I was out painting the fence. Half of it is now a lovely reddish cedar colour, but I did stop once it was midday as that's when the sun hits our garden full force and I wasn't daft enough to be out painting in the full glare of the sun. It was always my plan to stop then, so I started early in the morning. Though, what I should have done was do the outside first. Our gate opens onto the path which is only a foot across and then there's a metal fence before the bank down to the dual carriageway, so to maintain social distancing anytime someone walked past I had to go back in the garden and stop painting. Plus, I have to admit, I would have got more done if I hadn't had a natter to so many people from the estate passing by, but I haven't seen many of them for a while so it was nice to see how they were doing.
In the last week, we've finished watching The Good Doctor, Chicago Fire and Chicago Med. I thought the last two had weird endings before realising that filming had been stopped due to coronavirus so they'd obviously had to end the seasons early. Our next planned binge-watch catch up will be Criminal Minds, while on my own I'm catching up with Lucifer and Agents of Shield.
But, in things that are upcoming, new Queer Eye soon, and this self made video for the announcement of Umbrella Academy season two is fabulous. I especially like the toy sheep stabbing scene and I think they've done a great job of coping the official scene, though, with the addition of Ben and Five of course. As an aside, one thing I've liked about this lockdown is seeing people's houses, it indulges my nosy side nicely.

Date: 2020-05-21 02:07 pm (UTC)I really hope the antibiotics do the trick and it's a dental infection and not something needing an extraction. And yet again I'm pleased we've got such a lovely vet who understands the need to pay in instalments.
I blow hot and cold with Agents of Shield, I like it well enough when I do watch but not enough I want the next ep as soon as one finishes.
AHHH yes! It's so great. I've watched the video a few times now and I need more. I'm thrilled we have a date, even though it feels a long way away right now.

Date: 2020-05-21 04:05 pm (UTC)Me too, she sounds so nice.
I watched agents when it was on E4 and enjoyed it well enough... but I only saw season 1 and 2. Im not sure why I didn’t watch more
Yeah! It does seem far off, but I’m hoping we get another trailer. And the fact it’s far might mean we get press interviews like with the last one

Date: 2020-05-21 07:48 pm (UTC)Crossing fingers in hopes that Milo's ailment will get fixed by the antibiotics. LOL at your discovery that he was just as cranky/prickly abt getting his dosage with the vet ppl as he is with you.
Good on you for staying out of the intense sun. Some folks are stubborn when it comes to things like that and then are wondering why they got lightheaded, nauseous, etc. Also, yeah, now would be the ideal time to go paint the outside of the fence with minimal interruptions.
And, yeah, pretty much everything that wasn't a limited/mini-series had its scheduled cut way short. Never mind the fact that the shooting schedules are topsy-turvy as well. AFAIK, a lot of companies are aiming for August-September to start filming for the next season. I wish them...an ounce of luck.
TBH, I hadn't kept much of an eye on S2 of UA (though I knew they had finished late last November, so I had a feeling it was gonna drop sometime in the summer. ;)

Date: 2020-05-21 07:51 pm (UTC)I will share pictures when it's done, just pretend not to notice if you see the bits of the honeysuckle bush that are now cedar colour *g*
A punch of colour would be nice, you should go for it when you actually have some time.

Date: 2020-05-22 01:00 am (UTC)The weather has been completely bizarre here—I had to go back in & get a pullover to walk the did this morning. It was downright chilly & normally we’re into full on summer by now.

Date: 2020-05-22 07:57 am (UTC)Painting fences is such a tedious job, especially getting all the side bits. So splitting it up was a good decision, even without the sun issue. Though, since then it's been really windy and as I don't want to be picking leaves off wet paint I haven't even looked at the paintbrush again.

Date: 2020-05-22 07:59 am (UTC)I agree. Also, some of them are ridiculously prolific. I follow one winterhawk writer who seems to be putting out new stories daily, and not just one story in chapters, but different ones all the time.
The weather has been weird here too. We even had a brief shower of sleet last week, and then this week it was hot. So strange.

I felt strangely justified he's a pain with everyone and not just us. He's such a laidback cat that it always surprises me when he fights getting pills. I figured the vet could take the hit that first time *g*
Painting in the direct hot sun would not have been fun and even wearing sunscreen no doubt I'd have ended up bright red. So, I don't regret coming inside at midday at all, even if the fence looks a bit strange and unfinished at the moment. However, it's windy now and with so many trees around I don't want to be peeling leaves from wet paint.

Yeah, I can't see that happening, it would involve far too many people. It does make for strange season enders though, for both Chicago shows I was watching and thinking, is that it, no one has died, had a traumatic event or was in the middle of some kind of cliff-hanger. It was very much ending on a whimper not a bang.

Date: 2020-05-24 06:03 pm (UTC)The new colour of your fence sounds very pretty. I hope the weather will cooperate so you can get it finished soon.

Date: 2020-05-27 01:20 pm (UTC)You're right there. It doesn't help that Milo is such a big cat so holding him is difficult. He'll thrash and attempt to get away and has sharp claws that scratch. Then, will run away when the evil deed has been done, will look betrayed for an hour then come and sit next to me on the couch after deciding to forgive us. The same struggle every time.
The fence is done, apart from the fact I ran out of paint.
