Jun. 3rd, 2020 06:16 pmI don't know what's up with DW today but it's taking an age to comment, I suspect I'll have to give it up as a bad job and catch up tomorrow.
I also saw today that my crossposts to LJ hadn't been happening for a while, so sorry for the repost spam. I just hope they don't all get posted again at some point.
After nearly a week of beautiful sunshine and heat, the weather turned last night, becoming grey and rainy. Which was great for the garden and meant I only had to water the greenhouse plants. It was supposed to stay like that for a few days but it's back to being warm and sunny again, so, the weather forecast was lying to me.
Yesterday we went for a drive to the beach and saw the wild dolphins. I was so happy to see them, there had been reports in the papers for a few days and Kayleigh saw them three days ago, so when we saw groups of people looking out to sea we suspected what was out there, and it was the dolphins! So, after two years of seeing dolphins in the Canaries, this June we got to see them swimming off South Shields beach :D
Milo can't eat from midnight tonight, which means Pansy and Murphy will be cut off too. I suspect Murphy will think he's starving to death by the morning.
Mog on the Tyne is having to close for good, another victim of Covid 19. I'm going to miss the place and all the cats. I know they're all happy as I see them in their foster -- I guess, permanent homes now -- on Insta, but yeah, sad. While Catpawchino is still in Newcastle and up to now will eventually reopen, it just never had the same friendly vibes as Mog and somehow I suspect the one that was just starting to be opened in Durham may not happen now.
ETA: A go fund me to Save Mog on the Tyne has been set up and they have over 6k already. I've donated and hope it helps keep such a brilliant place open, and even if it doesn't, will help the rescue cats for as long as needed.
I've run out of Musketeer stories to read, the writer is still posting WIPs but I'm greedy and want more. I may have to reread all the Dragon stories again or move back to reading Winterhawk. I bet some good fic has been posted while I've been binge-reading Musketeers.

Date: 2020-06-03 05:34 pm (UTC)Yeah I’ve heard there’s been some screw up with lj meaning that’s been an issue
Here’s hoping you get more rain, we really need it
Oh wow that’s amazing! I’ve never seen wild dolphins that must’ve been so wonderful
Oh that’s so sad🥺

Date: 2020-06-03 08:00 pm (UTC)It's been gloriously rainy on and off for about a week now over here. As you can imagine, I'm ecstatic abt this. To the point that that I've actually enjoyed the rare sunny morning even! ;)
Ah wow, wild dolphins! What a neat thing to see! I've never seen any (though I'm sure that there are pods in the open ocean areas).
*Pets Murphy and Pansy* I bet you those two are gonna side-eye Milo for the rest of the day...
Oh noes, it sucks that Mog on the Tyne has fallen into such hard times. I totes et you about one place been friendlier over the other (even if they both offer the same kind of service.)
Running out of fic is a serious problem. I've been there before and it's deffo the opposite of fun. THAT SAID, you do have some other choices, LOL. *pets you*

Date: 2020-06-04 05:03 am (UTC)Milo has to be at the vets for nine so I'm up and about early. As expected Murphy is running around sounding tragic. You'd think he hadn't eaten for days, when the reality is it was about six hours ago *g*

Date: 2020-06-04 05:13 am (UTC)I'm happy to keep crossposting to LJ as I have friends who are only active over there, but no automatic crossposting makes it a bit more difficult. I guess if they have stopped working together I know now and will have to get into the habit of copy-pasting each post.
You attitude to the sun will forever make me smile, not because I don't get how relentless constant heat and sun must be, I mean, I was glad of the break after a week, but it's so different to the things a lot of people say as they crave summer.
I went on a dolphin boat ride on holiday so saw wild pods there, and that was amazing seeing them up close. But this was just as special as it was so unexpected.
We need to be at the vets in a few hours so right now Milo is sitting on the desk looking sad and Murphy is running around and wailing like he hasn't seen food in days. You can tell he's a teenage cat *g*
I always loved Mog and they've had some great donations to the go fund me, but sadly I doubt it'll be enough as it's a place that just won't work with any kind of social distancing. The whole point is to get in and interact with the cats, get on the floor, try and stop cats licking the cream off your cake and offering takeaway food like many other places are doing isn't really feasible.
I do have choices, though discovered the Musketeer writer has also written a few Picard stories so that kept me happy last night.

Date: 2020-06-04 05:28 am (UTC)Well it seems to be raining again here, whether it'll stick around again I don't know because you're right, we did need it.
It was so great seeing the dolphins, they were beautiful!

Date: 2020-06-07 02:59 pm (UTC)I've really enjoyed the sun too, but we seem to have switched from blazing sun to constant rain. It's from one extreme to the other lately.
I did see wild dolphins, they were beautiful!
