Jun. 6th, 2020 06:21 pmHappy birthday to
pensnest. I'm sure you're not celebrating today in the way you wanted, but I hope you're having a fantastic day anyway ♥
Fences seem to have it in for us lately as earlier the one between our house and next door half collapsed. Thankfully it was an easy temp fix as our neighbour has been redoing the garden and had stacked a load of wood and long planks against the fence and obviously the weight was just too much. All the stuff has been moved now and it's back standing and I suspect when the wind dies down he'll put up some kind of brace. We did offer to chip in if some permanent expert fixing was needed but I doubt it'll come to that.
Company was selling tins containing six bath bombs today, lets just say I'm stocked up for a while, which is good as my Lush stash is almost gone. Though I really must remember to try and not go on a Saturday as despite social distancing measures it was frantic in there. When one of the assistants announced she'd just put out some surplus KFC stock in the freezers I was almost knocked down by a woman determined to get them.
The June Something Day 4.
If you were introducing your favorite fandom to someone new, what one episode would you make them sit down and watch?.
I'm going with Musketeers again, because it's where my attention is at the moment, and while technically the pilot should be the best choice in terms of meeting the characters, really, most people would know them anyway from various forms so I'm going to pick 'The Good Soldier'. If you're an Aramis fan, and you should be because he's awesome, you need to see this episode as it's referenced heavily in fic and is the basis of a heap load of angst and h/c. The episode deals with Aramis being the sole survivor of a massacre where 20 Musketeers are killed in their sleep and how he was then abandoned by his bestie at the time, Marsac. It's angst on angst on angst with an extra dollop of angst in the rain and then given extra angst again when retold and referenced in fic form.
Day 5: You get to fuck/marry/kill in one fandom. What's the fandom, and who in the fandom fits each item?
I'm running with my theme, surprise.
Fuck. Aramis. Always, I mean, come on, like I was going to say anyone else.
Marry. Porthos. I think he'd make a good husband, loyal, attentive and easy on the eye.
Kill. I considered the Cardinal but in the end went for Rochefort because he's scum. Ha, that one was easy.

That's ten kinds of O____o , really.
Ahhh Ihni that the Musketeers had that much angst. Should've figured that's part of what got you into the fandom. :P
(We all have our things, T. Ny comment was a gentle tease, btw).

I have to admit, they're not as good, but they still make for a good bath.

You know me, I like what I like and admit it, and know you're teasing. I have no issues with that at all ♥
It's funny though, the Musketeers changes a lot over the three seasons in terms of angst. Season one is mostly light-hearted hi-jinks, season two gets a bit more angsty on occasions but then season three is, ouch. You wouldn't think season one and three were the same show. You'd think I'd be all over season 3, but that angst is caused by Aramis going off and leaving the others for years and them trying to reconnect when he comes back, and I don't like them being at odds. I need them being bros and loving each other.
