turpsMy youngest niece turned 6 today, so we've been to hers to drop off her gifts. It was one of her days at school so we didn't get to see her, but did see fannish niece and my youngest nephew. He's grown so much since we last saw him a few months ago, four-year-olds really do change fast and already he seems so much more grown-up.
Other than that it was a case of a quick chat with my MiL and FiL and then home as it was pouring down, and has been since yesterday afternoon. Of course, that means the roof is leaking in the porch again, thankfully not as bad as it could due to the direction of the rain, but it's a job we need to get done.

What is something you consider headcanon that was never truly resolved in canon?
I'm sort of blurring the lines here about canon, but I will forever believe that the Summer of Like has elements of truth. Not to the extent that's shown in fic, and probably not even sexually, but something. A summer where Pete and Mikey were joined at the hip and emotionally propped each other up with distractions and running away from the world when they were both pretty fucked in the head and facing futures and fame that were about to blow up.
Waterparks, dedications in songs, deleted posts on social media, an intense friendship that eased down into twitter convos and occasional public meetings, green tea kit kats and pool boys and above all, sweet little dudes always.

But yeah, we'll never know what went on exactly, and I don't think we need to know really. I'm just glad that, so many years later, they still appear to be friends, even if in a publicly distant way.
