Well, we're halfway through our busy week.

Yesterday James had his latest test and it was sort of good news, in that there was nothing sinister to see when he was scanned which suggests the pain he's having is referred from the kidney stones, which is the bad part as it means more waiting.

Got home from that and I had a letter from the hospital saying my yearly bloods were due and as I've had a gastric bypass my doctors should put me on the chronic disease register and man, I didn't like the sound of that, especially as apart from having lymphoedema I feel perfectly healthy. I also think the blood tests are early again. I remember posting about it before and am sure somehow I've ended up getting tested twice a year instead of once. Not that it's an issue, I don't mind giving blood and would rather know if something was wrong sooner rather than later, but even so.

This morning we needed to take Megan to the vets first thing. Kayleigh was at work all day so I had to go to her house, find and put Megan in the carrier and then drop her off at the vets for her monthly ear, chin and eye check-up. Poor thing needs steroids and antibiotics every month and her ears cleaned, and as you can see she looks furious every time. She's not actually angry though, she's used to it now, but just has one of those faces, especially when bedraggled.

After taking her back to Kayleigh's it was on to my Lympth appointment

Unsurprisingly my leg measurements were up because lockdown and being unable to walk as much did a number on my legs early in the year, the resulting small weight gain hasn't helped either. So, each leg were up a litre of fluid, but the lympth nurse was fine with that, he knew why and was perfectly happy that it's something I know how to deal with. But, he did suggest I try leg wraps as they have a stronger compression. Only one leg at first to see if I can tolerate it, but it's something I'll be able to put on myself after being taught to do so, and if it goes well I'll be able to have a wrap for each leg, while keeping the compression stockings for the times I need smooth legs. Which means an excuse to buy some wide-legged trousers and maxi skirts I think.

I also had my blood pressure taken, on my big toe and arm. He said my pressure was fine and showed I didn't smoke and did exercise and really, I feel that needs a *preens* especially as I've felt a bit slug-like lately.

Left there and had a flying visit to Company then home as James was expecting a phone call from the doctor at his work. They had a long talk and as it stands now she's recommending he takes more time off to be completely well before going back. As she said his work is high pressure so he needs to be fully well, which he just isn't right now. It does mean a slight dip in pay due to being off for so long but we'll manage.

Tomorrow he needs to drive into work for a meeting but the doctor has said she'll try and get the report sent to his managers, so hopefully, it'll be an in and out with him explaining what's been going on and that he's staying off on the doctor's recommendation.

Then Friday Milo is at the vets and the week of appointments will be over. Oh, and the vet sent over the diet Murphy has to follow for three weeks. Basically, it's special food for sensitive cat tummies and he can't eat anything else but that, no treats or anything. I feel sorry for him already.

What a day of all the things medical, and mostly positive. I hope James' meeting went well, his doctor makes such a good point about it being a high pressure job that it's much better to be healthy for.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed James will soon be rid of those painful stones!

Good luck with the leg wraps! And have lots of fun looking for pretty trousers and maxi skirts!

I hope James' visit with the work doctor went well and ditto for Milo's vet visit!
