The Snowflake Challenge today is to create your own challenge.
Honestly, I'm not sure where to go with that yet, but this Is there a challenge you've seen in the past that's no longer being run, and you wish it was? part of the bigger prompt made me think of the Bandom h/c challenge that ran over at LJ.
First, omg, that was back in 2009, which meant the responses were posted to journals, and second, I've just spent so much time wallowing in nostalgia. That was such a brilliant time for bandom and probably around the peak time of me writing and interacting. Though admittedly, it was a peak that lasted years.
Man, that challenge was the best. Totally ridiculous and everyone knew it, which is why I had no issue at all just having fun writing a plane crash onto a deserted island. Because of course that could happen, of course!
So many names there that are long gone, and so many brilliant prompts I still wish had been filled.
There was a fire alarm at James' work yesterday, and he found out the safety plan for him hadn't been updated. Because of his disabilities, he's not allowed to use the stairs in an emergency situation and of course, the lifts are out of bounds. What's supposed to happen is he's put on the rescue chair and taken to the ground floor. But when the alarm went off they found out that the chair was still on the top floor where he used to work, and due to staff shortages no one was around to carry him down anyway. So he had to be sort of manhandled down with people holding his arms. Which isn't ideal to say the least, but I guess it's good they found out now when it was a false alarm and not an actual emergency situation.
I have new Prodigal Son and This Is Us to watch, this is very happy-making. However, I also need to get some groceries for Kayleigh and Lucy and drop them off in their garden. So, tv watching will have to wait for now. I expect my best big sister eva! badge is there waiting when I arrive *g*
