It was Murphy's time to go to the vets today, but just for his annual booster and check-up. Last year they said he was about 1kg overweight but this time he's lost 0.5 of that, so he's on the way to the weight he should be. He does need to go back in around 6 months as while his teeth are great he's getting the signs of some gum disease so the vet suggested a scale and x-rays to keep on top of that. Thankfully, after being given a harsh lesson with the other cats, Murphy's got the best and most comprehensive insurance possible so paying won't be an issue when that eventually happens.

Of course, he gave me the cold shoulder when we got home, but we've just had a nice cuddle so I must have been forgiven for taking him out in the snow this morning.

Yesterday was James' birthday, so we went to the Metrocentre to get something to eat and do some shopping. For one of his presents I did buy the Hotel Chocolate hot chocolate in the end, but after a suggestion in comments got the packets and not sachets which worked out a little cheaper but are still just as nice.

We're meeting up with Corey and his girlfriend tomorrow so the birthday celebrations have stretched a bit.

Along with the vets James was supposed to be doing a tip run with my Sil's partner, but when we woke it had been snowing heavily overnight and the roads were a nightmare. So that has been put off until next week.



Which was quite the surprise as there was no snow at all when I'd gone to sleep.





So now I'm back in the house and am about to catch up online. By which I mean, I have a new Hawkeye ep to watch.

Snow! So pretty! I hate it so much, lol! Thankfully we haven't gotten more than enough to stick to the ground then melt away. Today we had rain. I got soaked on my walk and now the sun is trying to peek through. Wish that had happened earlier. *g*

Gah! Snow! We had hail yesterday, but I was safely tucked into my hairdresser's chair, and Beast (it turned out) was in one of the shopping malls in town, not being bombarded on his way home.

Oh yes, a good insurance for your pet is so very much worth the cost! In any case it's good to hear Murphy is doing well and even managing to slim a little.

I'd never get another pet without good insurance. Yeah, if you don't have it you can save money, but if something goes badly wrong, like it did for Milo. You'll want that insurance no matter what it cost in the past.

Snow is pretty and I don't mind it at all when I'm inside and don't have to go out in it.

If only all days we could go out and walk in the sunshine. It doesn't even have to be that hot, just sunny and warm.
