I enjoyed Les Miserables so much last night.

The theatre was buzzing, all four levels filled and even the standing places were sold out. I've never even seen those open for ticket buying before never mind sold out. But I do think the people up in the gallery must have nerves of steel to be that high.

Our seats were pretty great, limited view as we were end aisle at the side of the stalls but all that meant was we couldn't see the very edge of the left-hand side of the stage which wasn't an issue, especially as we were so lucky to get seats at all. The man in charge of accessibility was good too, he came and introduced himself, showed where he'd help us exit in case of emergency and popped by at the interval to ensure everything was okay then showed a quick stairs-free way to get out at the end.

The production itself was fantastic, all those familiar songs and such standout performances, especially Nic Greenshields as Javert and Dean Chisnall as Jean Valjean, their voices were just, wow. Also, in ways that could be relevant in fic situations, it was interesting to watch how someone could pick up a grown man from a supine position and get them over their shoulder. You know, if you'd ever want to write such a thing.

But in general, this is now one of my most favourite shows that I've seen and would love to go again sometime.

While we don't have more Les Mis tickets, we have just booked tickets to see White Christmas at the theatre. It's on James' birthday and it seemed like an appropriate show to celebrate the occasion.

Today I need to go buy a present for my youngest nephew as it's his birthday tomorrow and we're meeting up with my in-laws for a meal. But after I've bought that, we're heading for Durham as we've got tickets for Wakanda Forever which I'm looking forward to a lot.

I'm so glad you enjoyed the show! And that they were attentive to James' needs. That's wonderful, as it could have really soured your experience.

I hope you enjoy the movie! And I hope I don't wimp out of going today, too! *g*

Glad you had such a great time at Les Mis! I've actually never seen that show, which is funny when you consider how often I go to the theater. *g*

Hurray! That's awesome that the production for your show was so good, and that the accessibility assistance was worth its salt also. I've been lucky enough to get to see Les Mis a couple of times in theaters and it's such a great show to see live, isn't it? I hope your next show is equally excellent!

I love Les Mis—-D & I saw the original Broadway cast a gazillion years ago & then saw several touring companies. The score stays in my head for weeks!

I've seen Les Mis two and a half times (the first time I was seated behind the two people with the biggest heads in the world), and it is a magnificent spectacle. Though I don't much like it as a musical - however, that's just me. Glad you had a splendid time!

I'm glad to hear you had such a great time at the show!

Wonderful that the accessibility guy were so proactive and attentive.

That does indeed sound like a fabulous way of celebrating James' birthday.

I hope you enjoyed the movie!

ooh! Les Mis is so wonderful live! I've only seen it once (not long after it first opened in London) but I listen to the original cast recording so often!

I'm so happy you got a chance to see this! Also jealous -- I haven't been to the theatre since March 2020! But you may or may not have just inspired me to be brave, so...we'll see.

White Christmas is such a fun show, and slightly campy if you squint just right. I know you'll enjoy it!
