Nov. 17th, 2022 12:10 pmI realised today that new eps of Leverage Redemption have been released. I know what I'll be watching later.
Today I also saw that both
holiday_wishes and
fandomtrees are up and running again. They're both fantastic communities and I'm considering signing for trees. I may as well try and keep hold of this newly discovered want to write and if I'm asking for myself I'll want to gift too. So yes, go check them both out if you have your own wishes, fannish or not.
I'm just about finished the edits on what I'm now calling the mini wrimo collection, which sounds much grander than it actually is. Now I just how to remind myself how to post to A03 and when I do, two Musketeer and two bandom ficlets will be going up.
ETA: I really am out of practice, not only did I forget I'd need titles, but also managed to paste the draft of this post in the story body not once but twice.
Talking of. Mini wrimo is still going well, I've made my target every day and I've even added more to my Musketeers space story. I was saying earlier in comments to someone it's a bit niche in a small fandom, but reading the file over I actually like it a lot still. Of course, I'm writing to my own tastes so that's not a surprise.
James' work has its own doctor and he had a meeting with her today
He phoned afterwards and apparently, it went well. She stressed and made note that he has to have at least twenty minutes for comfort breaks, so if any of the team leaders get on his back again for taking too long they'll be pulled up about it. Not that he messes about on purpose, but obviously he'll never be able to just nip in and out. She's also strongly recommended that when home working is available he's top of the list to get it. Even two days out of four would help a lot, especially when he's not feeling his best and up to a 45-minute journey to work.
She also noted his AMC is degenerative and the majority of the issues he's having can be linked to that, meaning he's covered by the disability act if they get funny about the time he's been off. So all in all it was positive.
He also took in an order of two chocolate orange snowmen this morning and got another five orders when people saw them. I can see a lot of base painting in my future.
Today I also saw that both

Date: 2022-11-17 01:43 pm (UTC)Glad James' meeting went well! That does sound like an ideal situation. Hopefully WFH comes about and works better than last time.

Date: 2022-11-17 02:09 pm (UTC)The perfect holiday gift :D
It does sound like a very good meeting, and the work-from-home would be great for him, at least some days. He's too sociable for every day. You're right about last time though, that was a total cluster fuck.

Date: 2022-11-17 02:08 pm (UTC)Thanks for mentioning holiday_wishes and fandomtrees!
I'm glad that the doctor at his work is behind James 100%. *sending positive vibes* for the WFH.

Date: 2022-11-17 02:51 pm (UTC)You're welcome. I need to seriously think about joining one or both.
The doctor was apparently really lovely, which is always a plus. The WFH would be such an asset for him. It was before I friended you but they actually installed a high-speed second phone line to our house and sent a desk and chair ready for him to WFH years ago, then decided to scrap the scheme. We've still got the desk, though Corey took the chair away with him to uni.

Date: 2022-11-18 09:32 am (UTC)Three cheers for writing and also for posting!!
And I'm glad the work doctor is looking out for James's requirements and will back them up.
Also it's very cool that he's got customers lining up for his (and your!) work!

The doctor was so good with James, and was interested in what would help, which is a big thing.

Date: 2022-11-19 08:19 pm (UTC)Titles really seem to be a perennial problem for writers! Good luck coming up with catching ones.
James' work doctor sounds great! It must be a great relief to have her backing him.
Have fun painting!

Date: 2022-11-21 12:18 pm (UTC)James' work doctor is excellent. She also grasped the point why fastening buttons etc takes so long for him, therefore stressing the 20 mins at least.
I got my trees done but I can't say I'm a painting expert *g*
