It would have been mam's birthday yesterday. I thought of her when we ended up at the beach for our walk, despite all the big ups and huge downs, she's still a miss.

It was also Murphy's birthday yesterday and he turned four. He's still an idiot at times but has settled down a lot.

I also had my first pumpkin spice latte of the season yesterday, and forgot that Starbucks make them far too sweet for my taste so I was soon regretting my decision to get one. It was also a weird mesh of seasons as pumpkin spice signal autumn and we were in the first day of a mini heat wave that's forecast for this week.

Which is why I've been outside reading in the sunshine yesterday and also today. It's glorious out there, the load of bedding on the line was dried within hours and I finally got to prune the grapevine that had got totally out of control, and I have a bunch of grapes! Yes, they're tiny, but still, I've grown grapes :D I also picked more raspberries and this time a couple even made it into the house.

Starbucks lattes are way too sweet :( same with Tim Horton's. It's always a disappoint, but I'll still try every once in a while, too. We're having a lil heatwave too! So gross :P

Grapes AND raspberries?! *_*

Wow, I would have thought you were too far north for grapes! However I guess they can grow them around here, too. I just think of southern France or Greece or somewhere like that.

I don't think we'll ever stop missing our loved ones we've lost. Despite the ups and downs, I find my memories are more often the happy ones. And of course, now that my parents are gone, there are so many things I wish I'd asked them when they were still around. No matter how much time we have, it never seems to be enough.

I do think Murphy and Ozzie must have been cut from the same cloth! LOL. Ozzie has settled a bit, too, although he's only about 2-1/2 now. Hard to believe my Baby Kitty is 12-1/2.

It's so awesome you're able to grow your own food! Glad you're getting grapes and raspberries to enjoy!

Here's a toast in honor of your mother. And happy birthday Murphy!

Reading outside sounds lovely indeed, especially when surrounded by the fruits of your own harvest.

I don't think we ever stop missing love ones who're gone *hugs you a lot*

A belated happy birthday to your idiot kitty!

We're also having a small heatwave this week which feels very strange after a rather chilly August.

Sitting in your own garden reading sounds lovely and I'm totally envious of you! There's nothing wrong with my balcony but a garden is much better! Particularly when it produces grapes and raspberries :-)

The beach walk sounds like a lovely time to think of your mom.

Happy birthday Murphy!!

I'm often very sad that I don't have a taste for coffee because I want to try so many of the flavored ones! (Though I will drink a mocha because chocolate a) makes everything better and b) goes well with coffee. *g*
