I finally got to see Oppenheimer today, and yeah, it was good, those three hours flew past. Especially so as the sound was insane in the screen we'd gone to, the seat was literally vibrating at many points.

We'd gone to Metrocentre Odeon and the posh new Dolby laser screen we like, but neither of our recliners would work. They were still very comfy chairs, but they were totally dead, as was the next pair along. For this screen you have to pay £2 extra on top of the unlimited card, so when we reported the problem they gave a refund, which we didn't ask for but didn't say no to either.

Comments/flist reading tomorrow as I need to quickly eat tea and then in half an hour Strictly is back! Bring on the sequins, cheesiness and glitterballs!

I have to admit I haven't wanted to go see Oppenheimer as the subject matter sounded so dark. But I'm glad to hear you found it good - and that you got the refund too, as well you should when you didn't get the service you'd paid for!

You can't get away from the fact the subject matter of Oppenheimer is dark, and I completely understand why a lot of people wouldn't go see it. I'm still amazed it held my attention so completely for such a long time.

That's what the cinema worker said before he called a manager to refund. We'd only told him so he could take note of the dodgy seats, but like you he said we'd paid for something we didn't get.
