Oct. 10th, 2023 03:10 pmKayleigh, Bodhi and Lucy are away at Butlins this week, so I'm cat sitting. Which pretty much means going up twice a day to give Aeriel her meds, put down food, check water, litter tray etc and make sure everything okay in the house. Thankfully, James is only at work two days this week due to taking some annual leave because otherwise he drops me off at the house and I walk back. And then on the night he picks me up after work and we both go up together.
It was manic up there last night. It was the firework display and Kayleigh lives really close to the area where they're set off, so people were parking anywhere they could and getting home included driving through really narrow streets due to cars parked on either side.
This morning I'd been up and was home by 7am, what was weird was it was so warm on the way back, still very much t-shirt weather. Though, that's supposed to change from tomorrow. I took this photo on the way back as I liked how the trees and table rock were lit up.
Lunchtime I met Pauline and her daughter in town as she invited me out for dinner at the local pub. Then that invitation changed to walking with her to the dentist first, then going to eat. Not sure why extra company was needed for that, but hey, free dinner, I wasn't complaining. The food was okay, and it was nice catching up.
Now I want a nap.
My nephew's 18th meal went well on Sunday. We picked up Corey, and he's now got a man bun thing going on, saying it's because he hasn't had time to get his hair cut rather than an actual style choice. Though, as his flat is literally above a Turkish barbers, I don't really give much weight to the lack of time excuse.
A lot of my nephew's carers from the home were there, and of course, all my in laws apart from fannish niece, the food was okay, the usual standard carvery fare and the cake went across well. We ended up bringing home great slabs of it but gave a lot to Corey because there's only so much chocolate fudge cake that can be eaten.
It's my middle nephew's birthday tomorrow, then Kayleigh's the day after, then the latest birthday cluster is over.
