Oct. 24th, 2023 10:50 amHappy birthday to
sperrywink who is all kinds of awesome and a constant delight. I like to include a photo in with birthday posts, and we've shared so many fandoms over the years, I could pick from many. But I thought I'd go for some classic sweet little dudes this time. So happy birthday again, Kimberly, enjoy the rocker dads.

Storm Babet passed by with no real damage, to my house anyway, a lot of fences on the estate are down, but the wind was gusting in our favour this time, hitting the side of the house and not the back. Rain did continue to get in to the toilet ceiling, but a bowl contained that and while the ceiling is a little bowed, it's not actually down so can stay like that for now.
We did have a drive to the coast on Sunday and the damage was very apparent there, all the carparks were deep under sand, rocks had been moved, railings had been blown from one pier and one lighthouse had lost its dome, which is just, whoa.
We went to see The Creator on Saturday, and I liked it well enough. We went to the Odeon at Metrocenter and man, I'd forgotten about how busy that place gets on a Saturday. It was chaos, especially so as Trolls had just opened and they'd also set up photo spots themed on the Taylor Swift film. Those photo spots consisted of a lot of glittery stuff and lights, and kids being kids, a lot of them were getting tangled in the hanging sparkly streamers so the stuff was getting everywhere.
James' work now has an in-house therapy dog and James has booked it for this afternoon, so he gets some doggo love today. I'm not sure what breed the dog is, but he's called Henry, and I'm looking forward to hearing all about him.
I've made myself a Nikita and Vito icon because that dance from last week is still my happy place. Though the lack of adorable rooftop love fic is a tragedy! I went looking again earlier and got excited when Google brought up a result, but it turned out to be a link to my LJ post wanting the fic. So, tricked by myself.

So inquiring minds want to know- Is James a secret Swiftie and is eager for the tour movie???? Ahaha.
And yay, therapy dog.

Date: 2023-10-24 10:40 am (UTC)I was sure we'd lose a fence, but nope. What was funny was the windows aren't the best and the one in Corey's old room has a dodgy seal so made this howling noise when the wind hit it. It was like we were house sharing with a ghoul for two days.
He is not a secret Swiftie! *g* Though, he did suggest I get a photo taken in one of the photo spots so may be half a one. It was actually really adorable seeing all the fans there for the movie, they were so excited.
I'm looking forward to hearing all about the therapy dog.

Date: 2023-10-24 10:45 am (UTC)Ahaha, how very Harry Potter of your house. *g*
It is exciting seeing fans being all into their thing. I love it.
I bet. I wish my work had a therapy dog, and I'm not a big dog fan (and the cat would freak if a dog came into the house). But I need the endorphin boost these days at work.

Date: 2023-10-24 10:52 am (UTC)Well, the house has to stand out somehow you know *g*
If I could I'd send you all the kitty friendly therapy dogs to lean against your leg and give endorphin boosts as you work. As I can't I'll just smite your manager across the ocean and hope they stand barefoot on lego.

That is some serious smiting, there. *g*
(He may not be a bad person, but is definitely a bad manager).

Date: 2023-10-24 04:29 pm (UTC)it's cool that James' work is bringing in a therapy dog - those can be invaluable when folks are stressed. I know my sister's dog Herbert served in that capacity when her office was in the courthouse; he was available to crime victims, especially on trial days, and really helped little kids especially

Your icon is lovely. Too bad there's not anything more in the search results yet than your own post!

Date: 2023-10-25 03:41 pm (UTC)James loved his time with he therapy dog. It's such a cool idea.
My icon makes me happy, but yeah, why is the internet not doing what I wish and providing fic!?

Date: 2023-10-25 03:46 pm (UTC)Oh, I bet Herbert would have been so good in that role, he always looked so steady and calming.

Date: 2023-10-26 05:51 pm (UTC)That's so cool James' work has its own therapy dog. I see from comments that James loved his session with Henry, yay!
Why is fandom so bad at catering to us?!!!

Date: 2023-10-27 10:24 am (UTC)He did love his session with Henry. It's such a cool concept and I hope a lot of people take advantage of the scheme.
Fandom needs to up its game!
